I unfortunately got a really bad rate for this hotel, so this is why I am extra critical. It was the weekend of Wadi Bih and I paid 2,000 AED for one night!
The hotel is very old and has not been well looked after. The rooms are big. I had a room looking over the water which was probably the only nice part of the room.
Everything about it just screamed "dirty", there were splash marks on the wall which looked like coffee had been thrown at it (I am not a coffee drinker so definitely was not me!), so clearly no one had bothered to clean the wall. The bathroom was clean but tiles were moldy and the bin was rusty. Hairdryer that looked like it was from the 1970s did not work, which did not really surprise me. Wifi router was on the floor and had some sticky brown stuff stuck on the back of it!
The bed was large and comfortable which was another saving grace.
I ate lunch in the restaurant, although there was not a lot of choice on the menu, the pasta that I ordered was actually quite tasty.
I do though need to make a comment regarding the staff... despite the hotel being in such a dismal state, the staff could not have been more helpful... they were very apologetic when the wifi was not working in my room, and sent 3 different people to sort it out. All of them were very friendly and made my experience just a little bit better.
I would not choose to stay here again.
