Although the ambience and customer service was good, certain things about the rooms were such a let down. 1. As paying Members of the Stanley Hotel I would have thought they would have put us in better rooms than the Standard rooms we were given this weekend. When asked for a different room at reception, we were told that was the room that came with the privileges. 2. The carpet in the rooms had huge red stains right in the centre of the room, which is the first thing you notice as soon as you enter the room. You would think that as one of the bigger and better hotels in the city they would have better cleaning agents and equipment to clean the carpets in their rooms. Regardless if it's a Standar room or the Presidential suite. We are still paying customers. 3. As we had made reservations for 2 adults and 2 children for the room, they only put 2 towels in the room. And when we asked for 2 more towels to be brought to the room they would not bring the towels. (They probably expect people to share towels). 4. The rooms are supposed to be No Smoking rooms. Yet the room my children were in was filled with the stench of cigarette smoke. It was awful! When I complained about it at the reception desk, all the lady said was, 'Sorry about that'. And that was it! As if saying sorry is supposed to miraculously clean the air. We later found out that the cigarette smoke was coming from another guest room. So it begs the question as to why and how another guest is smoking in a Non-Smoking room, which is coming through the vents and polluting the air in the other rooms, more specifically the room my children were in, and affecting the health of my children? Even more annoying was when a drinking glass was accidentally broken, we were asked to pay for it. How dumb is that?? It's ok to let children stay in a room that is being polluted with cigarette smoke but when a glass is accidentally broken by children you have to pay for it!!!! I feel it is quite Inconsideate and there is no heart or empathy for customers that pay alot of money to stay in your Hotel. 👎👎 Do better The Stanley Hotel!!

We decided to go to Stanley for our quarantine because it is one of our favourite hotel in POM. We are 2 and needed place to work so we took a 1 bedroom apartment. Because we are two, they are charging us an extra per night without real reasons... making the price per night really very expensive for the services provided (knowing we are in quarantine they don't have to provide room cleaning or bed/bath linen changes everyday) As our flight was arriving early morning (05h30) they also charged us the night before because their policy is planning arrival in the afternoon only... If I can understand reason, this is for me the opposite of good customer service and they are not making any effort to accommodate early arrivals. The shuttle was obviously planned as part of the quarantine process but no one was waiting for us at the airport.. After 50h of travel, We had to wait and call the hotel to eventually get our shuttle. At our arrival, we have been placed in an apartment on the street site with a huge construction site just in front. They are working 7 days on 7 so if you go to Stanley be ready to be in the noise all day... They are not responsible for the noise but could do an effort to place their guests in rooms on the other side, looking at the size of the hotel, it should not be an issue. With the apartment, there was supposed to be washing machines and a working desk. That was an important point for us in our choice. What was our surprise when we discovered our apartment did not have a working station. Obviously the apartment is also lacking electrical plugs. To get access to it you have either to work in the bed, the couch or near the sink in the kitchen.... We had to organise the dining table near the kitchen to get access to electrical plugs so we have now cables all over the place, really not practical. Regarding the washing machines, yes we have but when requesting for a bit of laundry powder we have been advised they do not provide guests with it. This is clearly not an item I am travelling with so no possibility for washing our clothes. We had to use the sink for small washing. This is really not what we except from an hotel boasting itself as luxury. As probably most of the guests coming into quarantine without contacts in POM, we had to go for the "food package" offered by the hotel. For a 14 days program, they planned only 5 choices per meal, so you have barely no diversity in the food you will eat. It is also a bit fat with lots of burgers and mainly oriented around meat. I presume there are more options for vegetarians but ask before going the menu. If we can handle the food, I am more chocked that absolutely no 'fresh products' are offered to guests. This is mainly for the breakfast where you wont receive a juice or a fruit... It is only what is stated on the menu, no little extra to make a real breakfast. Without mentioning we have small cockroaches in the kitchen, I really do not recommend the Stanley for your quarantine. We are paying more than 900PGK a night for very bad standard services, noisy environment, no working station etc. I do not know what other hotels are offering but looking at the price we are paying, it can only be a better quality-price ratio.

Had a workshop for two weeks, was allocated a Ballroom for the first 3 days session and later related to a conference room for another 5 days session. The setup was well accounted for, there wasn't any inconvenience during the workshop with the break time. all participants were well informed and redirected where ever needed.

Venue is excellent. Rooms are fully equipped and spacious. Staff are supportive, patient, friendly and proactively attend to your requirements. Cuisine is delightfully varied and immaculately arranged for the guests.

Special thanks to all Conference and Events personnels that assisted us throughtout the duration of our workshop. We appreciate all that you have done for us, in ensuring that our workshop was a success, addressing/catering for our "last minute" arrangements at the evelenth hour.
