I stayed at Balai Adlao a few days ago for a week. First off, the staff was super friendly and very accomodating. The rooms are on the small side though the design is Filipiniana chic; the essentials are present, and the comfort level is excellent. Breakfast was a welcome addition as none of the restaurants in Lio beach were open early.
Lio Beach itself is amazing, probably the nicest stip of beach in El Nido with the all the features that they have. Not your budget setting though, and about 5 miles from El Nido town. Which was ok with me because El Nido Town was not my scene - a younger, more budget conscious crowd stay there, think hostels, backpackers, parties, and Ibiza (same crowd). There's a shuttle that goes to town if you have boat trips and picks you up later in the day. There's restaurants and bars that line the beach, a nice spa, travel agencies, shops, a convenience/drug store, and other fun stuff that line the frontage of the beach. The beach is long and nice, sunbathing was awesome. Lio is also about 20 minutes by scooter to Nacpan - a nice long beach with fewer developments and is also nice to check out.
I highly recommend this hotel, along with the other hotels in Lio Beach which are all kinda different depending on the purpose of your trip. Balai Adlao is perfect for couples and honeymooners, there's other hotels meant for backpackers, and another one tuned for families with multiple room suites. I hope you have a great trip to El Nido!
