Up until now, I’m still wondering if it was an inside job? The thief knew exactly where to broke in: the only room with 3 girls staying (others had male guests), and these girls will leave for the airport the next morning. My friend woke me up in panic at 4 am, asking why the door was open. We immediately checked our belongings and found out that our bags (which has our passports, money, keys etc) were missing. We tried to call the police in tears, just to find out that they are located in another town which will take them hours to get here. And if there’s no crime scene with blood and dead bodies, they won’t bother to come: completely useless security system, heaven for thieves and burglars. Luckily after minutes searching around the garden and the compound, we found our bags thrown on the ground. Everything was still there except our cash. I lost 300$, my other two friends lost a total of 800$, not to mention our Philippino as well as Vietnamese money. I am 30 years old, have traveled to almost 20 countries and this was the first-time-ever, I don’t even have a dime left in my pocket in a strange country. The hotel offered us 1,000 peso each (equal to 25$) but we insisted for 2,000 peso (50$) so we can at least have breakfast, then take the 5 hour-bus to the airport, then go through 2 flights to go home. To be fair, the hotel was nice: clean room with hot shower, chocolate cookies and hot water for tea every morning. The staff was friendly and the owners were helpful. Very chilling vibe. But, the burglary was really a bummer. We felt really lucky that 3 girls still came back home in one piece after 4 days in a town with no police around! And, Our passports, MacBook Air, Go-pro, iPhone X, credit cards and other expensive gadgets were still there so that the damage won’t be big enough for us to stay back to look for them - smart burglar!

We stayed in a deluxe family room. That turned out to be glorified bunk beds with a double on the bottom and single on the top. They do not have electricity at all times but claim to have it from 5:30pm until I think 10am next morning, but on the three nights we stayed there, we had no power which meant no AC in the middle of the night every night. Port Barton is by no means a luxury travel destination, and we spend a lot of time in the Philippines so we were not expecting so much, but this place really failed to deliver, and honestly the staffing is pretty much no existent and the few people that are around have absolutely no idea how to run the place. At over 3000 peso a night there are significantly better options to be had. We will definitely be back to Port Barton, but won't be staying at Bing Vice next time.

After reading the positive reviews on Booking, we were expecting a nice accomodation with great service. But we were a little disappionted. For example in the service; we had to ask for sheets, cleaning and toiletpaper. Plus points: - warm water in the shower (not all day, mostly from late in the afternoon untill the evening) - bed is pretty comfi - location is nice: quite but also close to everything - room and bathroom were clean - electricity is from 5.00pm to 10.00am, so the whole night - There is airco (although it doesn’t work very well) and a fan. - breakfast is served at your private porch Downsides: - breakfast isn’t really good. Pancakes were dry. 1 egg for 3 toasts, sometimes cold. We got a whole mango, but no extra knife or something. Instant coffee. One time they forgot to clean the breakfast, so it was crawling with ants on our table when we came back in the evening. - the people are very nice, but can try to improve the service. For example: we didn’t got any information when we arrived about electricity, WiFi etc. Also, we sometimes had to wait very long for someone to help us (no one was around). - the interiour and therefore the room is very dark. Especially with no electricity during the day. - We had to ask for sheets and toiletpaper (wasn’t there when we arrived). - They forgot to clean, both times. We had to ask. I think the place is pretty comfi comparing to other accomodations in Port Barton. But for the price we paid, I expected more.

This was the cheapest place we stayed in, but it was super clean, comfortable and had great service! The owner came to pick us up and helped us with the suitcases from the main road. They also gave us free mineral water on our arrival. Very good shower! You get one big towel per guest, and if you need more you can get for 50 peso. The elecricity is between 17:30 to 9:30 and so does the wifi. Breakfast is served to your private balcony at the time you select. Quiet place, a few steps from everything you need because the town is very small.
