Very rude security personnel. Never have I experienced anything like this even in 5-star hotels! Sagad sa bastos. I already read about it at Trip Advisor to stay away from this place if you are doing a stay-cation. Only 2 person per unit is allowed to swim, so instead of me canceling my reservation, I opted to book at Ascot instead, then I talked to the owner via airbnb to let my nieces stay instead. They came there right after our family Christmas party around 12 midnight (they're 3 young ladies and a sleepy five-year old child in tow), one guard let them in because there was an authorization letter from the owner but the other guard who took over won't let them in. That's understandable but how he spoke to them, and I even heard it over the phone when I asked to speak to him, the tone was so rude he said in a very condescending manner that he didn't need to speak to me because he would say exactly the same thing. I had to call the owner at midnight who called them, and finally he allowed to let them in but he just won't let it go without insulting my nieces that they might be bringing others too! I'm warning other property investors to not invest in this place or any place built by SM, they say their the good guys in their ad, but the people they hire, make them the bad guys!

Stayed in an AirBNB room in Jazz Residences. There are likely many owners who bought these places strictly to do AirBNB, so your experience may be different depending on how much the owner spent on the place. It was inexpensive (US$28) per night. Very small. Might be nice for one person, for two it's tight. Bed was comfortable, but only a top cover and fitted sheet which was grey color. Hard to tell if it was really clean (there is no housekeeping service, but supposedly they do clean before eaach new guest.) There is ZERO "front desk" type support. No telephone in the room to report problems (you get a cell phone number for an agent who dictates your check-in and check-out times, but I don't know how much other help that person might be). To be fair, these are "residences" and a lot of people live here in these shoebox sized apartments. Bathroom was ok, but the mirror was tiny and set so low that it reflected my nipples to my navel (I'm taller than most Asians, but not tall by western standards.) There was no closet, no shelves, no drawers. They provided some REALLY cheap frame with canvas for shelves and a little pipe for hanging things. Queen sized bed barely fit in the "bedroom" (simply a wall across the shoebox) and only one side of the bed was accessible. Second person needs to literally craw over his/her partner to get in/out of the bed. Mattress was comfortable. Sofa was worn out and like sitting in a hammock. Building was 45 storeys high (we were on the 45th...yikes) and elevator service can be quite slow. The lobby has ropes for queueing up to get on the elevator! I will never go back to this place because even in Makati, if you shop around online, you can find a very decent full service hotel for just a few dollars (US$) more and it often includes a breakfast (which Jazz does not provide.) The building caters to very many Chinese people (which is fine by me) and you will find much of the signage in English and Chinese (not Filipino!)

This place has potential but it's not fun to deal with the people running the buildings and pools. I have no complaints about the unit I rented or the person who rented to us. The room and accommodations were clean and functioned well including the air conditioning. However, dealing with the staff of the buildings and the pools was a living nightmare. The problem as I see it is, the administration has no skin in the game to be courteous or to extend the famous Mabuhay of the Philippines to the people renting the condos. It's not like a hotel where the staff has to be polite and give you incentives to like them and come back. In fact they almost go out of their way to control you and order you around. We picked this place because they have six pools and my fiance and her two sons love to swim. Last time we stayed at Azure with their wave pool and improvised beach which was fun and normal, we loved it there. Azure at this time had shut down the swimming for the whole month of August so we thought we would try Jazz. It happened to be a holiday when I was there and my fiance told me her boys were out of school and wanted to swim all day. We soon found out that swimming there is not only a paid privilege but on a holiday there is no administration working to take your money. So all we could do is stare at the lovely pools and wish we could swim. As everyone knows it is either hot or hotter in the Philippines so swimming is a popular pastime. I felt like a deer staring into the forbidden garden because there was a big fence to keep me out. There were very few swimmers at any given time of our three day stay and now I know why. 150 per head to get in and here is the catch or the rub: Only two people from one unit can swim. This seems insane to me . Why did they build such large pools to be rude and turn people away. One of the exciting things about Azure was to watch all the local people enjoying the wave pool. My fiance tried one more time on a non holiday the day after I already boarded my plane for home. She was disappointed also . How can you watch two boys swim if only two are allowed in? The holiday when they turned us away for swimming, we just walked around and took pictures around the pool until one of the unfriendly staff told us it was not allowed. I can't imagine telling Filipinos they can't take pictures. I think the selfie pole was invented just for them. I also need to mention even before the swimming nightmare I had a nightmare when I arrived. My arrangement was to check in at 2pm but I showed up at 11am to see if I could check in early plus my flight from Davao landed at 7 30am. I had no problem waiting around and strolling the mall until two but the staff at the desk would not watch my luggage. It is not like most hotels where they kindly store your luggage while you go off to enjoy the day until check in. When the man told me it was not allowed, I asked, "what if I pay you to watch my luggage?" He still was not accommodating and kept saying, "not allowed". I walked around for hours with my heavy bag full of pasaloubongs and my essentials. I tried to check the bag in at the mall Hypermarket but there was nobody there to take things. Sure enough as I was walking around the Jazz block, the strap on my luggage broke because of the weight and my computer went crashing to the hard cement. Now I am not only frustrated but frustrated with a broken computer. I also noticed other people walking around the mall with their huge luggage because they had the same problem I had for check in. The bottom line is, the people who rent the condos and especially any online company who books these places really needs to get serious with the administration about their rude and obnoxious behavior and policies. I am hoping Azure has their wave pool fixed the next time I am in town.
