The bamboo bungalow in which we stayed for a week was comfortable, spacious, clean and beautiful. The bathroom was amazing with all the different inlaid stones . . . an acupressure treatment for your feet. The cold-water shower took some getting used to. The bed was comfortable but we needed to wear ear plugs to sleep, as the walls were thin and we could hear people talking, dogs barking and roosters crowing, among other things. The fan was great for moving the air around, but you had to be a giant to reach the controls. The breakfast was basic: a fried egg with 2 pieces of toast, a banana and super yummy brewed Swedish coffee. We supplemented the breakfast with sweet buns from the bakery around the corner. The Filipina co-owner and her staff were friendly and helpful, always available to chat or provide local travel advice. We booked a wonderful island-hopping tour, a motorbike rental and a van trip to Puerto Princesa thru the resort. We loved the one-eyed calico cat who lived there. It visited us every time we sat out on our deck. If the resort had high-speed internet, warm water and aircon, we would have stayed even longer.

The accomodation was nicely set around a small lawn with a open air dining area where you could enjoy the included breakfast or hang out during the day. The rooms were basically furnished but nicely finished and tidy. The rooms have a strong fan attached to the wall which is great for sleeping. The breakfast was a fried or scrambled egg with some toast and a banana with tea and coffee (instant like everywhere in Philippines) that you could help yourself to. The accomodation can book buses to El Nido and Puerto Princesa as well as the island hopping trips. The wifi is terrible (although this is the case for most places in Port Barton as they are upgrading in northern Palawan) and despite other parts of Port Barton having very good 4g phone reception on Globe there was pretty much none here. The biggest downside which is not the fault of the owners but needs to be mentioned is the raging discos that happen at the basketball court/stadium and council building right behind this property. We stayed during christmas/new year period and the rave music base was felt in the floor and the music could be heard from 3 blocks away plus it went until 3am- ridiculous!! I would not stay again just in case this happened again depsite them having nice rooms.

I spent 11 nights at the Le Cou De Tou Village Resort in Port Barton and it filled my needs well enough while on a mission trip, don't get your hopes up too high and you will enjoy your stay just fine. The sights description is exactly what you can expect to receive. The room I booked had AC (1 of the only 2 at the place) and they kept it turned on any time I showed up between 10am - 6am. I can say I had to turn it down it blew so cold a definite 5 stars for the AC. The room was so tiny though it was difficult to move around but again this was not a real problem most of the time as I usually only cleaned up and slept in the room anyway. They only have cold water in the tiny little shower but it had plenty of pressure to clean up with. The breakfast was ok the first day (1 fried egg, 2 small pieces of toast and a small banana) but I quickly added two extra eggs for 50 pesos per day and the breakfast was a whole lot better from then on. I would agree with both the previous posters that the staff was friendly and quick to turn on the AC without asking but at times it seemed like I was almost in the way and every little thing like a fresh towel after 7 nights they charged me a small fee, never did I get clean sheets but by taking a very cold bath before hitting the sack and the freezing cold AC (no sweating at night for sure) the sheets stayed pretty clean. There are better deals to be found in Port Barton but if they were booked for my dates I would stay here again IF they had an AC room. Most of the guest I encountered in my 12 day stay were happy enough with their experience here, just keep your expectations realistic for how remote this area is. Pretty much anywhere you stay in the Philippines you will listen to roosters crowing in the morning (same on all of the Hawaiian Islands) and all the other familiar sounds of a 3rd world country so expect to hear them almost anywhere here. The wifi was almost non existence I got service in my room 2 times in 12 days but again this is a very remote area.

Taken a few days to digest our overnight stay in this place as I wanted to wait until we stayed at other places in Port Barton and reviewed the level of service within the area etc. So our visit wasn’t great, this so called resort is the the backyard of a house, the photos you see are very flattering Our hosts weren’t friendly and it seemed we were a hindrance to them during our stay, in fact it felt uncomfortable Rooms we’re tiny, tiny. No hot water, our room didn’t have an aircon and it was right next door to our hosts living area so we really enjoyed listening to them playing cards to the early hours of the morning. Also being set back in town you can also enjoy the rosters all night, plus the cats fighting and the dogs barking. Sleep was at a premium The breakfast was very poor, fried egg with 2 bits of toast, had coffee and tea bags there if you wanted to use them Overall I couldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone, other places in town are far more accomodating and hospitable to their guests

We booked 4 double rooms for a party of 8. The rate includes simple breakfast of toast, egg anf coffee/tea. Receptionist/resort manager is the manager of the owner. He was accommodating and even arranged a boat for us for the island hopping day tour. Standard rooms were a bit on the small side, ditto the bathrooms. Wall fans are installed in the rooms. As in every part of Barton, electricity was only provided from 4pm to midnight, but this was beyond their control.
