We stayed at The Big House for 11 days. Thanks to the owner who kept us company for most of the time during which we had to deal with earthquakes and a few aftershocks. She made sure we were all safe.
At the first sight of the Isaac room, I wasn't impressed because of the lack of patio and lack of fridge. That impression didn't last long as they were able to find solution to the fridge thing. We don't really need patio. Just go outside and voila, a nice big and clean garden awaits you!
There is a complimentary breakfast for house guests. I just wish there were more choices for my strictly vegetarian boyfriend like a cereal with yogurt but he was happy alternating between banana pancake and toast bread with marmalade. We were also served variety of cheese (pesto, gouda to name a few) made by the Chef owner herself, Beth. When it was breakfast time and she asked us if we want cheeses, "oh yeah sure, we won't say no to that" :) Thanks Beth and to the many stories you shared. She is very knowledgeable about healthy eating and even shares to her staff what she knows so they can learn to be good cook as well.
They have restaurant that serves vegetarian dishes. Oh yes! Yummy food, happy tummy! She made suggestions on what we order, the portion that is enough for a group of seven, how to eat certain food.
The staff and the owner make this place special and truly a home away from home.
