Hotel 2 My husband and I travelled by train from Albufeira to Lisbon. Which took about 3 hours. We booked the train through Train Ninja which was very easy to use. We booked 2 business class return tickets for 127 euros total. The thing that impressed me when booking was the extra security on their website. You have to submit a code from your bank statement to access your tickets. The train was clean and very comfortable. There is a coffee shop to buy some snacks. I had no complaints at all. We arrived at Santa Rosa station which is about a 3 minute walk to the hotel. Before we arrived at the hotel I had emailed them about travelling to Madeira which involves getting a Covid test. They were very helpful in the emails saying that they would book us a test and told me where it was. Which is less than a 5 minute walk. When we checked in Rafael was so helpful double checking the time of our appointment. The forms were not in English so she sat down with us and translated for us. Getting the test done wasn't painful and very quick. My husband got his results that evening and mine the next day. We didn't need yo self isolate while waiting on our results. We stayed in room 1922 where we booked a sky room bar access. It turns out the excutive bar is not available. You do still have access to the perks in the main lobby bar. The room was clean, comfortable and the windows do open. They do clean your room every day and they also do a turn service. The hotel has two restaurants one is called Soul Garden and the other Erva where breakfast is served. We ate in both restaurants and they were very good. We booked in at the spa and had a very relaxing massage. There is a sun deck, indoor swimming and a good size gym. When using the swimming pool you have to wear a swimming cap which you can purchase from the hotel for 3 euros. We did walk to the Hard Rock Cafe which is about a 60 minute walk which took us through the gardens and the main shopping streets. We did take a taxi to the Belem Tower which is less than 15 euros and walked along the sea front for an hour and got another taxi the main square. The taxi to the airport was less than 15 euros. Everything is open at the airport.

This hotel is everything you expect to see when you book a five star hotel. The hotel is not central but the metro and taxi service is good going into the town. There are no restaurants nearby so you do have to travel if you want to want a lovely location to sit and watch the world go by, although I have to say the Soul Garden at the hotel is a lovely setting and the food is lovely. But..... the hotel room was way too hot! We complained on several occasions and even moved rooms but to no avail, it was simply not working. The hotel did refund us some money and we also got a fan, but was not expecting this when you visit such a prestigious hotel as the Corinthia. Hence the 3 star rating. It is such a shame.

Just opened begin of August and we were one of the first guests. The staff was trained very well, helpful and professional. Breakfast was excellent: No classic buffet, but a "rolling" one. You choose the meals and the waiter serve it at your table. Some kind of "a la carte". In my eyes Corinthia has made best out of the situation and in the end it was a great experience. Corinthia should keep it :-) Booked room (Executive King) was very good (but unfortunately no Upgrade: booked via Discovery Loyalty as Platinum) - Air conditioning quiet: that's important for me. I hate loudness at night. We were several times at the Soul Garden Bar to have drinks; you should prebook a table especially if you want a seat at the "islands". It seems this bar is a hot spot at evenings. All in all we will definitely come back! Nothing to say more.

We stayed here during the first weekend of March from Friday to Monday, this was the time when there was a lockdown but the Coronavirus news on the media is starting to spread. This is my second time in this hotel and was delighted to see again the familiar lobby but with a new counter for conventions and events. The huge nicely arranged fresh flowers is a delight. The hotel is just an UBER drive away from the tourist centre, like from Corinthia to Cais do Sodre, costs around €5.30 and in less than 15 minutes, you're there. My first stay was in the Junior suit which has a large space (around 45 square meters) and a sitting area. For this stay, I chose Corinthia because of the positive experience I had before. Check in was a breeze, we were upgraded to our delight to a DEluXE King size room. It was a bit smaller than my first but still ample space. If I'm not mistaken, we were in room 421, the amenities were great. I hope the leak from the bide has already been fixed as I am writing this. But they were so thoughtful and apologetic for it, they even gave us a small gesture of snacks and cake because of this. Most importantly, they gave me a surprise gift of a bottle of champagne, pasteis de nata, cake with a note of happy birthday (even though I didn't mention that we were there to celebrate my birthday but maybe the system gave that information away). Big thanks to the staff and general manager for that. Also, as always, the breakfast (as compared to other big name brand hotels that we have stayed in which I will not mention) this by far has one of the biggest selection of breakfast food in Lisbon. I don't regularly write reviews recently because of this, I refuse to rant but to rave for something. But in this case, Corinthia has really went beyond and above my expectations so much so that, God willing, I will celebrate my birthdays here when I am in Portugal. The in room service was also a delight. We tried it several times (even during my first stay here) and they're all hot, served on time (please allow at least 15 to 20 minutes) and very well presented. Well, about the spa... the spa is huge with a lot of doors, I almost got lost, good thing they (as in all spas) would lead the way. But, as compared to Asian spas, the massage is not something I would recommend. I would have gotten another 50 minute massage and facial before we checked-out if I was impressed, but the service isn't what I expected. The effleurage (a type of long strokes in the massage) was faster than usual. The massage strokes should be paced slowly to relax the client. But then again, this is coming from someone who has a background in the spa industry. But the spa staff were generally courteous. All in all, I would still highly recommend the Corinthia and will come back because of the thoughtfulness and hospitality of the hotel's front liners and the GM. Muito obrigada por tudo.

A few mins from the airport €7 in a taxi and wow what an amazing lobby and what a lovely warm welcome we received from Francesco on the desk he explained everything to us where to go what to do & the best way to get there . The hotel was extremely quiet due to the Coronavirus outbreak around the world & we received a talk from one of the managers on this explaining what to do & how they would help if we needed it this was great reassurance from such a professional team . The rooms are spotless & have a nespresso coffee maker great for us the bed has to be one of the most comfortable beds of any hotel . Breakfast was just amazing they have everything & again the staff are courteous and very attentive . Well done to the Corinthia management team you really have picked a great team & once things pick up again I truly hope you prosper & carry on with your great staff and service. We will definitely return
