Room and bathroom clean and a good size with a double bed. It's inside a commercial centre and eventually you realise there's a short cut to the centre of Barcelos by going through the Mall instead of around it, failure of satnav! Breakfast is pretty basic, have coffee elsewhere. For supper as I had half board, I had the misfortune to be the only female in a restaurant next to the gardens in town, where the chaps were watching football, not a spare table to be had!
Barcelos is a a lovely place to spend the day in with some good shops as well as Artisan shops, selling ceramic shells and souvenirs; if you are doing the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. There are some good restaurants nearby, I went for a beer and tapas to Gandra situated in a quiet little square behind the shops. There is an attractive Plaza to people watch with an ornate church and artisan museum and nice gardens.
