Stayed there for two nights. I found the apartments very clean and well maintained. The key pad and code is a bit difficult to enter and is about an 8 digit code. it could be very confusing if you are any way drunk. It was difficult to found somewhere to eating the morning with may of the restaurants not opening toll after 11. The apartments are located right in the heart if biarro alto. Bit difficult to find but all in all they nice apartments

Located in the heart of Bairro Alto, the most bohemian district in town, the flat was super comfortable, large, well furnished and with all one needs to live like a local. The check in was very easy, you will be provided with a code to access both the building and your flat. By a walking distance you will find literally everything you need, from little picturesque convenient stores, to restaurants with delicious Portuguese food and fado! I’ve read some negative comments about the location but obviously were written by people who did not plan well their trip. Yes there are graphite’s, yes the streets are packed of people at night as the party is everywhere, as this is a bohemian area. If you want quietness and you are not flexible with the duality of bohemian atmospheres, do not stay here. But double glazing really isolated from the noise. I’ve used the pick up to and from the airport and it was a great option. I just loved it!

Bairro Alto is an extremely busy and lively area filled with bars, so if you’re looking for a quiet family area, I probably wouldn’t recommend. However for a group of 7 young girls, this area was perfect for us. Two of the girls and myself had a corner room with two balconys overlooking one of the streets. The area is noisy until the early hours of the morning and there is a busy bar directly outside the hotel entrance. However when the doors and windows are closed you cannot hear a thing, so we all slept perfectly. The room was spacious and clean, the staff are extremely friendly and the kitchen is fully furnished with everything you need. We had one double bed and one camp like bed which was still really comfy. The area is perfectly located, perfect walking distance from Alfama and the city centre, surrounded with bars/restaurants and shops and right next to the famous Lisbon trams. Check in is all done on a computer like machine which we originally struggled with but there is a phone to call and speak to someone to assist. They also allowed us to keep our luggage in the storage area before check in and after check out to save us carrying our bags around. Worth the money 100% and would deffo stay here again.

We spent our 3rd stay at Hello Lisbon's Bairro Alto property in September, 2018. This may be our last time. We were accustomed to their check-in procedure. As there are no humans on-site, you are sent a code to the front door. If it is before check-in time, you can drop off your luggage in a locker. The room we stayed in on the first floor was no different than before - Ikea kitchen, a comfy bed, windows overlooking the craziness of Bairro Alto. But here are our complaints, after staying here twice before... 1. We arrived in Lisbon at 6AM and went to drop off our bags. The code we were given via email for the front door did not work. We used the outside intercom to contact Hello Lisbon and they provided 3 other codes before the last finally worked. ... You don't want to be standing outside with your luggage trying to get in. That's completely unacceptable. 2. When we checked-in later, the new kiosk kept saying that it was unable to connect for processing our credit card for the hotel taxes. We then tried a debit card and it kept spinning, too. My wife told me to just punch in the PIN, even though the card reader didn't say to do that, and voila, we were in. -- These new kiosks are a complete waste of money and are not user-friendly. Scanning your passport is a complete PITA. You have to position it EXACTLY in a certain spot, which you will quickly learn after numerous failed attempts. There is also no air-conditioning in this area, so you can expect to lose a couple of pounds whilst getting frustrated with this new process. 3. The shampoo/conditioner/bodywash dispener has been removed from the shower, but the remains of the connectors were still on the tile. This wasn't attractive and I wasn't happy with the quality of the generic typical hotel bottles of those products provided. The previous dispenser was also environmentally-friendly. Disposing of multiple plastic bottles daily is not. 4. Knowing this property, we were prepared to wash some clothes before our departure to the Algarve. Unfortunately, no instructions were provided on how to use the combo washer/dryer. These machines are not the standard in the USA. Although I lived in Europe for 10 years (15 years ago), we had no idea how to use the machine. Instructions would be appreciated. We stayed at Santos property after our weekend in the Algarve. We encountered similar problems. Although the front door code worked, the code provided for the room door did not (and we had to call, again, whilst sweating in the stairwell). There were no instructions for the washer/dryer. The shower dispenser was gone and no hygiene products were provided. We used to love Hello Lisbon but it's going downhill. There are numerous other serviced apartment hotels in the area. We will be looking at them for our next visit. That saddens me, because we always wanted to stay at Hello Lisbon.

We were booked to stay here for 4 nights by a travel agent. We were shocked at the ugly graffiti painted exterior of the building. The bins for the street, piled high with rubbish, were directly by the entrance. There is no staff on site. Check-in is done remotely. While the apartment was spacious, light and quite clean, the hot water service was faulty, the water pressure was weak and there was no detergent, washing powder, tea towel, plug or ironing board. Street noise, especially at weekends, is a major issue if you want uninterrupted sleep. During our stay a group of young and very drunk guests partied all night, both inside and directly outside the apartment block. We spoke to the revellers directly and to the 24 hr phone reception but to no avail. Our prepaid breakfast was delivered in a box each morning. It was outrageously overpriced. If your priorities are a central location, close to lively nightlife, this may be for you. If not, look elsewhere.
