General Manager José Branco has put together the most professional & caring team in the business. While it's a 5-star property, the service is 5+ stars!
The hotel is taking covid seriously, with staff wearing masks at all times. But none of this diminishes their warm-hearted nature and genuine interest in making sure that you enjoy your stay. Nuno, the front office manager, and his team helped me navigate Portugal like a local.
If you can, pay for the premium rooms. You will enjoy sitting on your balcony, overlooking the ocean and admiring the sunrises and sunsets. If you sleep with the balcony door open, you'll be able to hear the waves crashing.
The breakfast (included in my room rate) was gourmet, with everything that you could possibly want. The omelets were delightful, and if you haven't had Portuguese oranges (laranjas), you are in for a treat!
The hotel is steps away from one of the best beaches in Portugal, and the center of Cascais is an easy 10 minute stroll.
For those contemplating Lisbon, choose Cascais. You can take the train (right near the hotel) or uber (35 mins) into Lisbon. I did that multiple times and, while I like Lisbon a lot, I was always glad to arrive back in Cascais.
Back to the wonderful staff, upon learning that I was studying Portuguese, they all became tutors of mine, teaching me new words and phrases every day.
I miss my friends at the Miragem. I wish them the very best, and I cannot wait to return!
Até a próxima meus amigos!
