We were so lucky to miss all the quarantine schedule as Portugal goes into Amber. Just so grateful to have a fabulous week away. Staff, from the pool to the breakfast buffet, to the housekeepers, couldn’t have been more courteous or helpful!! Couldn’t ask for a better location. Research places to eat off the beaten track (but still within walking distance) - they were amazing! Train to Lisbon takes half an hour and costs about €2.50. Good to have a cheap SIM card as my O2 roaming was shocking. Just got to be aware that taxis can only have 3 passengers, so if you’re a family of 4 or more, you’ll need two taxis. It was an eye watering €110 for two taxis to get us back to the airport (only 25min drive), so might Uber it next time😅. Hopefully it will also be less than £900 for all the 3 Covid tests next time (and probably about 6 hours of admin for everything).

If this isn't the most magical hotel/location, I don't know what is. The staff in whole was amazing, BUT the housekeeping staff was unmatched. It was like I was checking into a brand new room every day I came back - it's the little things in life I appreciate. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! An absolute stunning view of water, sandy beaches forever, a lovely little market square where you can get lost down every street and Rose for days AND when you buy the bottle you can take home what you don't drink! HIGHLY recommend a stay at Hotel Cascais Miragem, I know I'll be back!

General Manager José Branco has put together the most professional & caring team in the business. While it's a 5-star property, the service is 5+ stars!    The hotel is taking covid seriously, with staff wearing masks at all times. But none of this diminishes their warm-hearted nature and genuine interest in making sure that you enjoy your stay. Nuno, the front office manager, and his team helped me navigate Portugal like a local. If you can, pay for the premium rooms. You will enjoy sitting on your balcony, overlooking the ocean and admiring the sunrises and sunsets. If you sleep with the balcony door open, you'll be able to hear the waves crashing.     The breakfast (included in my room rate) was gourmet, with everything that you could possibly want. The omelets were delightful, and if you haven't had Portuguese oranges (laranjas), you are in for a treat!  The pool--stunning.   The hotel is steps away from one of the best beaches in Portugal, and the center of Cascais is an easy 10 minute stroll.  For those contemplating Lisbon, choose Cascais. You can take the train (right near the hotel) or uber (35 mins) into Lisbon. I did that multiple times and, while I like Lisbon a lot, I was always glad to arrive back in Cascais.  Back to the wonderful staff, upon learning that I was studying Portuguese, they all became tutors of mine, teaching me new words and phrases every day.   I miss my friends at the Miragem.  I wish them the very best, and I cannot wait to return! Até a próxima meus amigos!

I spent four nights at the mirage in September 2020. Overall I was very impressed with the facilities and service. The staff were very professional and friendly. The room was very comfortable and the food was amazing. There were two negative experiences. The first happened relates to an incident involving broken glass by the swimming pool. I was walking over from my sun lounger toward the towel storage area. As I approached the staff who were handing out beach towels, I felt a sharp pain in my heel and had to stop walking immediately. I sat down and saw that I had broken glass stuck in the skin of my heel pad. The staff were very helpful and came to my assistance immediately. Fortunately I was able to remove the glass fragment fairly easily with my fingers. Nevertheless it was quite an unpleasant experience. I expressed my concern to the pool staff and they promptly brought out a broom and swept the area. My second concern is perhaps slightly out of the control of the hotel management. Having spent four afternoons lying by the pool I did not witness a single guest shower before entering the water. Many had been lying in the sun for hours and I was surprised that nobody showered. Perhaps a polite notice recommending that guests shower is in order? The pool is not chlorinated (i believe it has a uv filter system). Maybe it’s just me... showering before swimming on a hot day, drenched in sweat seems like a good idea.

We had a very nice experience at the hotel. It was too cold for the pool, but the pool area was beautiful, the breakfast amazing. We traveled with our 1yo baby and the staff was very kind and nice to help us with everything our baby needed (warming food, chair, etc..)
