Euro Moniz offers its guests comfortable, value for money accommodation set on three floors within easy walking distance of the sea pools that attract most visitors to Porto Moniz. Our suite came equipped with air conditioning, a fridge, a coffee maker (coffee and tea), a safe, adequate plug points for our devices and a large flat screen TV with a wide choice of channels.
The suite opened on to a generous private patio with sun beds, a table and chairs. The lobby is large and welcoming with comfy sofas and chairs. Mini lounges with more chairs are located on the landings. Breakfasts are adequate and tasty.
Swimming towels are available at the reception desk. We made daily use of the indoor pool. (Take care entering the floor-level jacuzzi as it’s easy to slip and fall in - as I did. Ouch!) The panoramic bar with spectacular views across to the pools is open in the evenings although few guests seemed to make use of it.
Reception was swift and pleasant. The receptionist drew our attention to the private parking available beside the hotel, which was really useful as the public car parks are often full.
The hotel’s one drawback was poor sound insulation. The thud and bang of spring-loaded doors echoed around the corridors at mealtimes (although not at night as most guests retired early. Porto Moniz offers little night life other than meals at numerous restaurants.)
Would we come back? Yes, certainly. And we would try again for one of the two suites that offer additional space, comfy chairs and that delightful patio.
