Beautiful scenary surrounding the hotel, perfect for a relaxed stroll in the end of the day, where you get to pick organic blueberries straight from the bushes. An enormous pool is the delight of adults and children, and although it is indoors, the glass surrounding it makes you feel that you are outdoors. Rooms are confortable and spacious, with quality toiletries. Pool bar, the restaurant and breakfast have wonderful food, and the staff is very attentive. Highly recommend it.

Lovely hotel, with excellent amenities in the uplands of West Madeira. This hotel is an excellent base for some fantastic walking routes- to Nun’s Valley, Pico Grande and Encumeada. THe pool was a particular highlight. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

Quinta da Serra is a really lovely place in the mountains above Câmara de Lobos. I stayed here for two nights and it was a great base for hiking.
Although the hotel is very quiet at the moment (in fact I was the only guest in my second night), the professionalism of the staff was inspiring. It must be so difficult for them in the current climate. And I was mightily impressed by the fact that it was “business as usual” for the pool, sauna, gym etc.
The gardens are huge, and they encourage you to walk around and explore them. They grow lots of stuff which they use in the kitchen to great effect. The food was excellent, and I felt almost humbled that they laid on a full breakfast buffet for me each morning. It was great, and very much appreciated.
I wish the hotel well for the future. They impressed me a lot. And I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get into the mountains and explore.

The Hotel Quinta da Serra is a truly 5* hotel! The management and staff are most courteous, the rooms are clean and spacious and the spa area is gorgeous. It has a large heated pool (28°C), a gym, sauna and a whirl pool (33°C). The – largely organic - food is excellent and if there’s anything missing they go out of their way to meet your requirements or wants. In fact, I brought my own nuts, almonds and goji berries to the breakfast table, believing that they would not have these items (and indeed, they were not available at the buffet). The very next day I found a tray with nuts, almonds and goji berries on my breakfast table! The staff is so friendly and obliging! Engineer Marco showed me around in the – beautiful - garden and explained the interesting history and concept of the place. Its philosophy of a bio hotel makes it quite unique on Madeira. I spent two weeks in the hotel. Its daily shuttle service down to Funchal (down 9am, up 5pm) is very good as you can easily overcome the remoteness of the place, if you want.
From the first contact by email until I left it was a wonderful experience and I can only praise Hotel Quinta da Serra!

In the middle of a forrest with beautiful trees ,plants and flowers. great indoors swimmingpool and jacuzzi, which was not too small this time. Unfortunately hardly any guests. We were the only guests in the diningroom. balcony in the room is fine. Beds are big and comfortable. breakfast is complete. It is safer to be here than in your crowded homecountry. All safety-measures were taken.
