The Hotel Vila Bela in Porto da Cruz fulfilled more than just our expectationes! The stuff in the hotel and restaurant was always friendly and helpful. The kitchen was excellent and even delicious vegetarian meals (made with fresh vegetables) were offered to us every evening. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day and the view to the sea was amazing (be booked a room with sea view). We really had a great and relaxing time at Vila Bela and would recommend it to everyone who travels to Porto da Cruz!

Visited Hotel Vila Bela for the second time. We just love the place, the great atmosphere, very good fresh food and so friendly staff. We did 6 days of surfing in the Calhau surfing school and in the mornings some nice trail running. Thanks Rudolfo and Paula for the hospitality. Thanks Andre and Johnny for great surfing sessions.

Very good experience in this hotel. Good value for money, nice breakfast, clean and comfortable room next to the sea. I recommend the room with Sea View. If going during the summer, bring some mosquito repellent :)

I really enjoyed my stay in the Vila Bela hotel. Porto da Cruz is a great place to be especially for surfing. The breakfasts were a great start to the day and their staff are very friendly. Their restaurant also has lots to offer and the view from the terrace is magnificent!

This property was the first one we stayed in on our walking holiday and a bit of a revelation to be honest. The food on all 3 nights we had HB was fantastic, wonderfully home cooked produce with the highlight being the Octopus and fish soup . Get a sea view but on the top floor if possible, lovely to hear the ocean in bed and sit on the balcony with a glass of wine. The bar downstairs can get noisy I imagine in the summer but we dis not notice it. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
