A wonderful hotel in this beautiful village Monte Estoril. Although is on the railway line it is quiet and peaceful. The room was amazing with a view over the ocean. The private piscina was a gorgeous experience and you should visit the spa. Staff amazing, helpful and kind and the breakfast on the balcony just like a fairy tale.

Wonderful hotel 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Staff is very friendly and professional . Marcelo checked us in in a very professional and friendly way. He explained everything about the hotel. Ana Sofía was also very nice and she helped us with everything what we needed. Felipe at the restaurant was also very nice, he helped us to make always a good choice for dinner ! Every staff member in this hotel will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as they can. This hotel has everything what you need: great location, delicious food, nice pools and professional and friendly staff who knows everything about hospitality. We will come back to this hotel for sure. Once again thank you all for giving us a wonderful stay !!!

We stayed for four nights in early June and it was our first trip out of the U.K. since Covid. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for - modern, smart, great sea views from our third floor room, wonderful huge bed, great modern bathroom and (my personal) top concern - wonderful total silence between rooms! Service was super friendly and personal - especially given Covid and the safety measures were very reassuring. Housekeeping was great (you needed to book when you wanted it) and the outside pool service was super attentive. We were lucky to get the little private garden island beds most days (at the far side of the pool) and it was wonderful. My wife had a great Spa treatment too. Breakfast was very good - but they did get the odd request wrong - but that’s a tiny gripe. The location is perfect - just a 20 min beachfront stroll to Cascias and despite it being an ‘Intercontinental’ it felt like a tiny boutique hotel. We can’t wait to come back!

This is a very clean and well serviced hotel with excellent facilities right on the beach front. The rooms are large modern and great bathrooms with large comfortable beds and a desk. Food is very good although I think there could be more light options for poolside dining especially for none meat eaters. Don’t be out off by the railway line as there are only four small local trains per hour passing through

What a magnificent hotel! We were expecting a very large IHG hotel with many floors but what we encountered was a relatively small boutique hotel. The actual hotel has 3 floors, the main reception is in the main floor and below you find 2 more floors with rooms. The floors above are all private residences, so it feels very exclusive. This is a new hotel, reopened I believe in 2016. We were warmly greeted by Martin in the front desk, from the very start you could sense it was a very special place. This hotel is part of Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts collection. We were given an upgrade to a very large room with ocean view and a very large balcony. The attention to details is noticeable, we were given some very tasty Portuguese sweet treats in our room when we checked in, absolutely delicious! The view from the room was gorgeous, the smell of the ocean was fantastic and it made us feel very comfortable. Before dinner, we walked all the way to Boca do Inferno, about 40 min away by foot, we find it a nice way to get a feel of the place when you walk and interact with locals and tourists alike. The hotel has a fantastic location if you want to walk to town. We had dinner at the hotel, we sat outside on the restaurant that has a very large open balcony facing the ocean. Dinner was amazing, we ordered the Bacalhau and the Robalo corado, and as a starter we had the Camarao a guilho (shrimp), everything was delicious, very well presented and everyone was very attentive to our needs. We ordered a bottle of red wine from the Alentejo region and it was very smooth. For dessert, we ordered the mousse de queijo chevre and the typical Portuguese dessert The Egg Puddin (Pudim Abade Priscos). The Pudim was fantastic and we ordered it a few times in our trip around Portugal. Unfortunately we cannot remember the names of the people that served us, but we do remember the special treatment we were given. Since we chose this hotel as part of Amex’s hotel collection, breakfast was included. Due to Covid restrictions, there is no buffet but they offer a collection of breads and pastries that they bring to the table, and you can special order eggs cooked any way you want, cereal, juices, coffee, etc. It is very well presented and several waiters were taking care of us during this time. Telmo was the main waiter, very friendly and we spoke briefly about the history of the hotel, how it has been built and rebuilt a few times, and how it hosted several events during the 2nd World war… You sense you are part of history as you think about these events... All in all, it exceeded our expectations! We knew that it would be a very good hotel (it had to be in order to be classified as an Amex Fine Hotel & Resort), but it felt more like a boutique hotel, the attentiveness of the staff was notorious, everyone was trying to do their best to treat their guests the best possible way. It is not by accident that this hotel is rated so highly, it is hard work and attention to details, we appreciate that. Sadly, we only stayed one night but we will remember fondly our stay. We would love to be back some day. Thank you for the memories! Alejandro Ruiz
