This is a very basic ApartHotel. I requested to check out after my first night and the hotel in conjunction with blue sea travel refused to check me out, otherwise we were to lose all money paid in advance.
Upon checking in we were booked to room 433 (I believe) which was very difficult to locate as there are no potters to help out or clear directions to the rooms. This was on first floor and there’s no lift to carry the luggage upstairs. The mattresses were so spent that I wouldn’t have these in my visitor’s room. We rejected this room immediately. They changed us to room 686 which again we had to look out for. While this shouldn’t be a problem in itself the rooms are arranged in an awkward numbering style and means that we had to look for our room for more than 10 minutes. This was constant with many guests and later in our stay we helped guests who were checking in and struggling with finding their rooms.
The 2nd room was slightly better compared to the first one though it was not fit for purpose. The poor joining of twin beds meant the whole time our night was uncomfortable.
Our first night involved us cleaning the room and the terrace. We couldn’t stand the dirt. We cleaned our house before going on holiday only to start cleaning the hotel room and the terrace upon arrival at the hotel room. Hah! Life can laugh at one.
The choice of food was shockingly wanting. The food was bland and often repeated. The utensils were not quickly cleared off the table due to management maintaining skeleton staff. There was a very small choice of fruits and it’s shocking that in 7 nights a banana had not been served as part of the meal.
Whereas it may be unfair to have a go at the staff, my assessment was that the hotel was trying all it could to get away with the most minimum number of staff possible. This meant that staff on duty were overworked and couldn’t attend to issues as quickly as required. An overworked staff are unlikely to be more accommodating and tolerant. This made the whole place untidy and its shocking to publicise this structure as a 4*. Please don’t be lied too.
All the hotel beddings and towels were white which is great. I was in this hotel for 7 nights, 6 nights more than I wanted to. I am too aware that this are different times due to the pandemic. The place is hot not to warrant a blanket/duvet and therefore can be sweaty at night and clients will most likely go to the beach. We did. The hotel policy is to change the linen once in 5 days. This is seriously taking a meek and very unhygienic in my opinion.
LAUGHABLE ALL INCLUSIVE
We had a meeting with the manager on duty and asked her to tell us what was included in our all-inclusive package. She wasn’t able to articulate. This is a big rip-off and am asking anyone who may care to listen not to visit this hotel but if you must, don’t be taken on the boat ride that is all inclusive as you’ll find it leaks pretty quickly at set off.
The bathtub was dirty upon checking in. It was old and chipping and really shameful for MGM to lay out such a room to guests.
The bedroom/studio is very small. The ironing board was broken, one electricity bulb was falling off the wall and only supported by a cardboard. This we thought was dangerous and reported. All they did was to cover it with a lamp shade, which was really poor workmanship.
The terrace was generally dirty and had a refuse bag left by the corner. There were two sunbeds at the terrace. Two dirty sunbeds and full of white paint. We called for the sunbeds to be replaced, not once and even then, the replacement sunbeds had seen their better days.
The hotel positive is that it is close to the beach.
The terrace door is the same door to the room. There is no window in the room and therefore no escape in the event of any misfortune emanating from the terrace aka room door.
This was a TOTAL violation!
