Arrived in mid March 2013 after a late snow storm covered the roads and landscape in white. What a welcome sight - an historic mountain inn, warm and safe for the night. Many a traveler must have felt that way.
Room was comfortable and large. Service friendly and efficient. Dining room food and service very good.
There is nothing in the immediate vicinity. No shops, no restaurants. Your are up on a mountain. Manteigas, a small community is abut 30 minutes away, down a winding mountain road. So think of this as an overnight stop, not a resort. But it is a good stop.
