We booked this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and get some rest after a long quarantine. Nothing better than going back home to relax and recharge energies. The suite was gorgeous and surprisingly very large and it comes with a fully equipped kitchenette and a very long balcony facing the palm trees. Since we are in the middle of a pandemic they also provided with a kit that included one mask, one pair of gloves and sanitiser. I was expecting to have some kind of amenities since I emailed the hotel to let them know we were celebrating our anniversary but nothing was provided or mentioned upon arrival. As a guest relations myself I was quite disappointed but it didn’t ruined my stay at all. The hotel has so many large pools and so many Palm trees. It’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect for some good pictures. The beach is also very close to the hotel which is a big plus. And last but not least, I would like to thank the receptionist and the concierge for the excellent customer service provided. Overall, I loved this hotel and I will absolutely be staying here or in any other Nau hotels when coming back to the Algarve.

As the title reveals, we haven’t stayed at the hotel. We had an upcoming trip to Portugal this coming weekend but due to Covid19 - those plans were cancelled. The hotel offered us free reschedule of the existing booking until december 2021 or gift voucher for the value of the reservation. We kindly asked to be refunded the amount as we do not know when we will be able to travel. The hotel agreed to refund the entire amount even though our booking was non-refundable. A lot of businesses struggle during this time and hotels are no different. The fact that they agreed to refund shows how far they will go to satisfy customers. When we finally visit Portugal in the future - you will definately have our business. We won’t hesitate to book with you again.

I have just spent the week in salgados dunas. Myself and 14 other so called golfers ! Check in was easy and straightforward, the reception staff could not have been more helpful throughout our trip . Nothing was too much trouble from booking taxis , local golf courses etc. The rooms where spotlessly clean with bed linen and towels changed every day. The room itself was huge with a massive balcony. There is a small fridge , kettle , coffee machine and safe . No iron and ironing board but they are available with a call to reception and it arrived in 2 minutes !! My only negative is that the lighting in the rooms could be improved but that didn't effect my stay . Breakfast from 7.30 every morning was absolutely fantastic, massive choice of hot and cold breakfasts , fresh fruit and pastries. Fresh fruit juice, tea and wide variety of coffees , even ice cold prosecco if you fancy it !! The bar area is huge with a well stocked bar, all staff were friendly and attentive, reasonably priced drinks although some spirits were a bit over the top. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone , I speak not only for myself but 14 others! We are already planning to return next year !

We had a 3-bed sea view suite #1426, which we were told is the best suite in the hotel. It had 2 balconies; one that all 3 bedrooms can access and another L shaped that wrapped around the living room. It means you get the sun all day and can watch the sunset. Being the highest (4th floor) you can see the sea over the many palm trees. Other positives are that each bedroom has an en-suite and the living room is huge with a large table where 6 can easily sit. Theres a kitchen (sink, fridge, freezer, microwave) but no cutlery or crockery other than some espresso cups and saucers for the nepresso machine. However after the first 4 free pods they cost a euro each (so we bought a pack of 10 from the local supermarket!). Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice; hot food (beans, eggs, bacon (I think) sausages (but not as I know them), hash browns, tomatoes), pastries, bread, cheese, ham, fruit (pineapple, melon, grapefruit, apples, bananas, oranges, kiwi), cereals and coffee/hot drinks. all in plentiful supply. The suite (and the whole hotel) felt very ‘functional’; it lacked any comfort or cosey-ness. There were no major negatives but it felt more 4 star than 5. The aircon was quite noisy, but we turned it off for our stay. Also the design of the wardrobes and en-suites were a little odd and not easy to access them all without having to close other doors. The sliding doors to the balconies were not easy to operate and often didn’t shut properly but being on the 4th floor security wasn’t a big issue. You are charged for everything unless, I guess, you can book all inclusive. The pool table is 7 euro per hour, tennis is charged to hire the court and extra for equipment, the nespresso pods and the spa (which was a little disappointing) was 5 euro per person per day etc. I think life would be much better if they just charged an extra small amount per night and included these things - then you’d think you’re getting excellent value! The jazz bar felt totally soulless and was mainly empty (although we went in October, so out of season). We ordered some chips when we arrived (late) but they arrived luke-warm. There was a gym, but not terribly inviting (for the wife, not me!). The spa seemed limited in what it had to offer other than treatments. The six pools were all freezing cold, but that didn’t stop our kids and others from having a dip. Access to the beach is easy and along two boardwalks. The hotel and suite was clean and tidy and the pleasant cleaners came daily. I dread to think of its carbon footprint, as we noticed at the end of our stay that they replaced all bed linen each day; had we known we would have asked them not to. Same with the towels. We left plastic and glass bottles out separately for recycling, but they just got put into the waste with everything else, and there are lots of small plastic bottles in each bathroom. for breakfast ketchup etc all came in small plastic sachets. We had breakfast included so went to the local supermarket to buy food for lunch and tonic (fevertree) for our pre-dinner gin(s). The supermarket is well stocked and good to have nearby. I enquired about golf at the local course, which is within walking distance. It was 35 euro pp to play, 35 euro pp to hire clubs and 35 euro for a buggy. We didn’t bother as we were too tired, but the course looked quite nice. Overall, a good stay with friendly staff and a clean hotel. Having that suite helped make the stay, otherwise I think I would have been really disappointed.

This was a great place to stay for a very relaxing week's holiday. Sometimes it's nice to have a holiday where the most strenuous thing each day is deciding where to have dinner. This is a good place to come to do that. We liked the welcome chocolates every day! The housekeepers were fantastic – came in twice a day including to put away the sofa-bed and remake it in in the evening. The gym is a great facility – a little short of equipment, and it would be nice to have (a) more light, (b) decent gym music as opposed fluffy-relaxy-mood-sounds all the time, and (c) longer opening hours into the evening. However there are free weights, a couple of weight machines, and a couple of CV machines (cross-trainer, treadmill and two bikes). They definitely need more bars for the free weights. Beach & Sea – beautiful beach – soft sand that goes on for miles. Not overly busy (in October). A lot of surf to have fun in. They left the wave machine on all the time (!) There is a walkway down to the beach – it’s only a few hundred metres away. Pools – lots of pools – a little too cold for us – it would be nice if one maybe was heated to be a bit warmer. Perhaps this is less of a problem in the high summer. The space around the pools is very generous and as a result, even though the hotel wasn’t particularly quiet, the pools always were. There were enough people to say – it wasn’t deserted, but not too many to spoil things. Sea-view – I’m honestly not sure if our room was meant to have a sea view or not. However – for any view you’re looking first over the pools and then a bit of waste-ground and the sea is a good few hundred metres. I wouldn’t call that a problem but I wouldn’t recommend paying extra for a sea-view either. Room – junior suite – really nice. Yes a little sterile but nonetheless comfortable and large. It came with a minibar and coffee machine – both of which were rather expensive so we didn’t use them – there’s a supermarket up the road and a jar of coffee and some large bottles of cold drinks are a good investment. There is safe underground parking and additional parking by the road – there’s loads of parking which I appreciate when I have a hire car for the week. Free wifi – I found that mine dropped out quite a lot although not everyone experienced this. Football and tennis – rather expensive so we didn’t. Breakfast – fantastic. A really good selection, kept very tidy, clean and fully-stocked by very attentive staff virtually all the time. They even have a couple of bottles of sparkling wine if you want this at breakfast with your orange juice. Personally I would pass on this, and as a trade-off take free coffee pods for the espresso machine in the room instead. It would be a great improvement to have a short-order chef doing eggs, pancakes etc. during the breakfast – that’s something that I really like in hotels. Sadly not here – it’s probably about the only thing that I can say would improve it. The manager and the restaurant manager were very attentive. One morning the hotel manager was in breakfast obviously having a meeting with one of the suppliers, and we sat down close by on a table that wasn’t made up. I wasn’t worried about that – it just meant that we had to get our own cutlery – but he noticed and interrupted his meeting to go and make sure that someone was straight on it. In that case it wasn’t necessary, but it shows a high level of attention to detail and personal care. He probably didn’t think that anyone even noticed that - but we did. Overall – we’d love to come back.
