We checked into Silchoro apartments Albufeira very late on Thursday night so we went straight to bed on Friday morning we were awoken by very noisy upstairs neighbors/cleaners my dad lay down on the mattress that was on one of the couches he found this to be more comfortable than his mattress on his bed so picked the mattress up after moving the mattress we found a crack pipe. Shocked and disgusted we put the crack pipe in the bin as we didn’t want cleaners coming in thinking it was ours before we got to inform reception. I went down to reception and told the receptionist What we had found and where to find the pipe I am unsure if the receptionist just didn’t understand me or thought I would let it go but she told she will tell housekeeping. When I went back to my room that night the pipe was gone still unhappy I went to reception again the next day(Saturday) I informed the new receptionist of what happened and she told me no report was filled from yesterday so she said she would make a report of it now and told me she will ring the manager for me to speak with her and for me to sit down which I did. She told me the manager did not answer but to wait where she told me to sit down until she rang back change of shift was happening at this time so the woman who rang the manager informed the new staff member of what was going on. The First Lady left and the second lady told me the manager still had not rang back so just to wait. After 10 minutes the receptionist told me I could leave and that she would find me once the manager rang back. An hour later the receptionist came out to me at the pool and told me that the manager would meet with me on Monday afternoon I was extremely unhappy as it was only Saturday and I felt uncomfortable in my room as I felt it was unclean (please see pictures(pictures include the crack pipe, a drop of blood on the floor, marks all over the walls and a graffiti drawn dick on the bathroom door) and the fact we found a used crack pipe in the room, however I waited until Monday as I believed the receptionist couldn’t do anything for me without the managers permission anyway. So Monday afternoon came and I went reception at half 4 they told me she still wasn’t there to come back at around 6 and she should be here pushing my plans back even further but I waited until 6 and went back down to reception to be told that the manager has had to go to a meeting offsite and won’t be able to meet with me until “10ish” on Tuesday morning(I arrived on Thursday). So I set my alarm for 10 on Monday night for Tuesday a lot earlier than I hoped to be up on my holidays but I did not want to miss the manager. Tuesday morning came I left my room at 10:15 to be ready to meet the manager at “10ish” . I went to reception and they led me to “Christina’s” office the general manager, she told me to explain my Situation so I did first question she asked me was why I moved the pipe to which I responded with “I didn’t want you thinking it was mine as I’m sure it’s still illegal to smoke crack in Portugal” for her to tell me no you should have left it there for me to see it because when I sent my staff up they said the room was fine and no sign of a pipe to which I said that I informed the receptionist on the first day that we moved the pipe into the bin and told her this. After explaining the whole situation she told me that she done all she could do by asking her staff to check the room and that the room was perfectly clean. Is she serious how does she believe that a room that had a used dirty crack pipe under a mattress is clean. I told her there is no way the room is clean when something like that that’s not very well hidden is left in a room. She told me “it’s just a pipe I can smoke tobacco from a pipe” and proceeded to take her tobacco pipe out of its case. I said I don’t condone smoking but that it’s not the same thing as crack is illegal it’s not mine it’s dirty and it was so easily found that there is no way the room is clean. She proceeded to tell me she has done everything correctly I told her not by me you haven’t I don’t feel comfortable in my room I make sure I have shoes on the whole time I came with this information on Friday it’s now Tuesday and I only have two days left of my holiday left and that your guests should be your priority. She then told me her guests are her priority but that she trusts her staff. However when I mentioned more of the story like being told to wait and about the reports she told me that this was unusual and not what usually happens and she would have to speak with her staff so I Said well 2 minutes ago you trusted your staff to say that the room is clean yet here you are wanting to speak to your staff and I told her to check cctv as she would find
Me sitting at reception like the receptionist told me to. We kept going around and around in circles she kept saying it shouldn’t of happened but it happened so I said that’s it ? I’ve had to sleep in an unclean room (getting sick might I add) but your offering me nothing so she said well what would you like so I said well what are your options that you are offering me she told me I’m not offering you anything “it shouldn’t have happened but it happened” I said what if there was a baby in the room would this be a different situation if a child had found it and been in the situation I am in to which she threw her arms up. I said so your offering me nothing and she goes what do you suggest so I said refund she said absolutely not I said partial refund she said absolutely not now if when I brought this to their attention on the Friday they offered to move my room for me I would have had absolutely no problem and would have felt more comfortable however they did not they strung me along until 2 days before I leave yet she tells me to enjoy my last two days here. Cristina the general manager of the Silchoro hotels advice to me after finding a crack pipe in my room was to enjoy my last two days. Ps if you decide on staying here enjoy all of the extra charges they charge if you want the tv remote for the tv in your room, WiFi in your room is €3 per day they supply no hairdryers so it’s €2 per hour for the hairdryer it’s 75cent for them to call a taxi for you which they don’t call by the way they use a machine. They is no air con but they charge you if you want to rent a fan. They charge you if you need a cot for a baby. Avoid if possible!
