Unfortunately, strong advertisement but low reality! The spa is far behind, jacuzzi rather not working, some days they just ran out of towels! Medical clinic with minimum stuffDin , lack of qualified people, old facilities. The working hours of the restaurant not aligned with schedule of the medical centre! You must skip the breakfast! A disappointment!

We have just returned after a week-end break at Hotel Palace. The hotel is situated in a former treatment resort, next to a park. Unfortunately, the resort was almost abandoned and except spending time at the hotel's spa or indulging the fresh air during a walk in the park, there is nothing to do in the proximity. The hotel is one of the oldest in Romania, being built just before WWI. The building itself is an Art Noveau gem that and has been reasonably well restored. Rooms are nice and clean, staff was friendly and breakfast was decent. Complimentary access to a spa with pool, Jacuzzi, Hammam, steam bath and sauna is provided. Massages are also decent priced, but there was no availability during our stay. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and the food was tasty, but not impressive. Things to be improved: 1. Drinks at breakfast. When I wanted a glass of juice, the machine provided only a colored water. Coffee was undrinkable. 2. Rules and hygiene at the spa: There are no instructions on how the spa facilities should be used (time, hygiene rules, etc.). People are entering the sauna/steam bath/hamam without a towel, with slippers on and without taking a shower. People were jumping in the pool, even though the water level is not that high. There is also too much water on the floor with high risk of accidents. Conclusion: This hotel has great potential. It only needs a little more attention to details and a better maintenance and management approach!

My husband and I book a trip here every year, starting on the 29th of December. They organise about a trip for each day until the 2nd of January, switching up locations every year whilst keeping things local (usually included are a vinyard, a traditional pork meal which is difficult to describe). A very good cover band goes about everywhere the tourists go as well. You can opt out of trips, if you so desire. The staff is very helpful and your stay is extremely flexible in regards to what you can do. All in all, definitely an experience we can wholeheartedly recommend.

The hotel was build around 1910 -1914, beautiful architecture, in the middle of green area. Entire hotel is renovated and has new furniture, air conditioning, minibar, TV, all the facilities for a 4 stars hotel. Also, the spa is amaizing, with big swiming pool, kids pool, jacuzzi, massaje, saunas, gym, everyting. The restaurant is located in the former ballroom, which is very romantic. The food very tasty, romanian and international menu and live music. All the staff friendly and heplpful. A good option to spend a weekend for health and relax.

The hotel is recently refurbished and looks very good for a 105 years old building. It is elegant and located on a hill on top of the resort, near a beautiful park. Rooms are very spacious and clean and we found toiletries in the bathroom. Warm and nice atmosphere inside. Reception staff is efficient, but not too friendly. The water temperature in the pools is very good and there is a wide range of facilities to enjoy, with bathrobes and towels provided. Tasty dishes at the restaurant. Very good and diversified breakfast. The spa: The ventilation system in the pools area is very weird, bringing in very cold air. No instructions and people entering dry sauna without a towel, and wet sauna without taking a shower. Too much water on the floor. No access to natural light and no possibility to take fresh air after sauna. The restaurant: They don’t serve soups at supper. Portions are medium to small. Wine is served at room temperature. Slow service and insufficient staff. We took wine by glass and the red wine was served at 25 degrees, room temperature. Room and reception: We booked a matrimonial room and announced we will be sleeping with our kid in the same bed, but received a twin room, with very heavy beds that we had to put together. We waited 15 minutes to check out. Overall, it seemed overpriced unless you overuse the spa services which are included in the price.
