My stay at Reef View was a short one but almost felt as if I was home, Service was excellent. The room was awesome and the place itself is very close to a nice restaurant as well as the beach. Looking forward to staying there again.

After 13 years of writing reviews for TripAdvisor, Reef View BnB East London leaves me speechless, mostly because of the excellent service. The host, Steward, exceeded all expectations with his friendliness and willingness to assist. The bed and breakfast offers a delightful blend of stylish rooms, some with a garden view and others facing onto the warm Indian ocean. My husband made use of the easy access to the river and beaches and the family enjoyed the hearty breakfast. We will definitely return!

Indeed, enjoyed my Business stay & definitely mouth-watering OMELETTE. We had load shedding but indeed, enjoyed the sound & breeze of the Ocean. The Owner is definitely very attentive & friendly. Thanks to the Ladies, for keeping our Rooms clean & fresh.

My parents and I done a 7 night stay from Friday 27 Dec to Friday 03 Jan and the BnB was perfect for my parents. One of the first things Steward (the owner) done was take our breakfast order (an amazing omelette) then gave us the WiFi password and also recommended a few resturants that are a must see from Sanook Eatery to Grazia. Upon waking up for breakfast (between 07:00 - 09:00) I had the chance to feed his Japanese koi fish in the 2m deep pond. Breakfast was always kicked off with a bowl of fresh fruits and yoghurt followed by your breakfast order, toasted bread was also available all while Steward's dog Jaxon entertains us. The BnB has 8 rooms, 2 swimming pools, 2 braai stands, and a fish pond that looks towards the nahoon beach, which is a 240m walk from the BnB itself.

A lengthy and somewhat adventurous drive from Durban to East London, took us on the N2 closure, to be routed through a local town, only to find out that halfway through this detour, the N2 was opened again and we were stuck in this little 2km stretch that took about 1 hour instead of 95 seconds! Regardless, we were then thrown off our way by a determined GARMIN navigator which had decided that we should never have driven on the N2!! We drove through hinterland of African townships that even the baboons and antelope had neglected, causing us to arrive at our destination at dusk instead of about 15:30-ish! We pulled up at an enormous electronically controlled entrance gate and pressed the button, resulting in nothing… so I thought! A second press almost immediately preceded the gate sliding back into its 'attack' position, should anything have gone wrong! We climbed a ver steep but short beautifully bricked driveway, to be met by an exuberant owner Stewart, who immediately closed the gate again and directed us into a parking spot 10 feet from a room door. Stewart showed us the first room, with the twin beds I had previously requested, but was adamant that we also checkout the other 2 vacant rooms between the first and the dining room. Ultimately, my wife chose the very first room, which had 3 beds, and all the other trappings a really goo B&B should have. We settled for the night quite tired, ready for a bright and early start the next day. Stewart secured our breakfast orders (which he himself coked) and we retired. Sunshine woke me early, with a good appetite, a lovely shower and a short walk in the fresh morning air, with a small view of the ocean, took me to the dining room, where my wife joined me 10 minutes later. The dining room was almost all glass, offering a lovely view of his garden, which also showed near completion of some modification he was making the the garden. Impressive! A juicy fresh fruit and yogurt dish was waiting to be devoured, whilst Stewart cooked our previously ordered meal. Marina joined me just as mine arrived from the kitchen. We talked with our host for almost an hour, as this is till off season and he had more time to spend with us. Another woman came in and it was clear that Stewart and she had known each other for quite sometime. She was going on to her home in Cape Town. Stewart could not do enough for us, because after asking which route we were to take, he recommended quite a few things that we could see without any detour, including a visit for coffee to the hotel of a friend of his, with a gorgeous water-front garden area complete with a dock and their own ducks with ducklings! All-in-all, Reef View B&B was a delight to stay in and would thoroughly recommend everyone passing by East London, to book with Stewart.
