Visited PSJ on recommendation on South African friends and this is definitely like travelling back in time. PSJ is in a very remote part of South Africa and clearly was a charming little hamlet a while back. Now a bustling African market town it has a charm but has clearly seen better days! We did not stay long enough to really explore the area, however, during our brief stay Dries and Elsa were very welcoming and cooked a super Full Breakfast. Rooms comfortable with all necessary facilities and location right by the sea.

nice family run business with awsome views, good food and great breakfast. Nice to get around from and see and do things. Rooms are practical and clean. Far away from town so its quiet! and close enough to not miss action, fishing off the banks!!

We had a very nice stay. Friendly staff and we enjoyed it a lot. We were 5 people staying for 5 nights . Remember this is Transkei and you will experience the hospitality of the area. House had all the self catering amenities needed. Beautiful view.

Room was clean and the bed was large. Beautiful patio with an incredible view of the beach/sea. Great breakfast and the host was very nice. Shower was cold which was unfortunate...
TV volume was weird, could not really hear much the clarity was strange.
I felt that the price was expensive for what we got.

Stayed one night at Umzimvubu Retreat and was pleased with the a clean room, very friendly staff, and a great ocean view from my room's patio. Breakfast was also well-done and offered a variety of choices. The retreat is a short walk away from Port St Johns.
