Gurye Little Prince Pension

This is a nice, small place near the beautiful mountain and Miesian parkin Gurye-gun that is worth a stay if for the service. Scott the owner is a very nice person, as is his wife. Scott also offers a typical Korean barbecue that you can book, and I recommend it. The man is skilled in the art or roasting. Good stay in a nice little pocket of nature.

If you book European style the rooms are quite big, very clean and well equipped (shampoo, tooth paste, body lotion) If you look outside the widow you have the view to a small river. It's very quite and if you need help the owner can recommend restaurant. He speaks good English.

I stayed here alone for one night. The room was comfortable with international channels (if you're wanting to watch tv). I did an afternoon walk in the national park which was beautiful, but struggled to find any information regarding trails (there was no map available at the entrance). The pension is perfectly situated near the park, and I had an awesome breakfast prepared for me (at extra cost). If you aren't an adventurous eater, perhaps bring something to keep you going as, while there are plenty restaurants around, nobody spoke English. In fact, the owner was the only person that I met here that could speak English, so if you're alone you may feel a little isolated. This would be an awesome spot to stay with a group of friends or family, the scenery is amazing

This pension is perfectly located near the not many amenities, only 25mins from the temple and the rear of the hotel is over looking the river. The first night we stayed at the front of the hotel which was a bit noisy due to people talking on the road nearby, but the second night was filled with the bliss of a stream running.

My partner and me wanted to hike in the mountains of Jirisan and Hwaeomsa was mentioned as the best place to start for hikers depending on public transport. So we arrived by bus late in the evening without a booking in any hotel. We passed the closed visitor's centre and behind was The Little Prince. We walked in, welcomed by classical music and in the hallway sat five or six people at a table. For one moment everybody was quiet and I asked if anybody spoke English. The owner jumped up and spoke fluent English, giving us a duplex room with a good bed, nice hot shower with a good water pressure and a view on the river. In the morning, we had breakfast, best pancakes ever and a wake-up call. The room is clean, the bed nice and warm, mornings are wonderful with the view on the river and the terrace. The owner was a man with a great sense of humor, who also gave us good tips on where to eat good Korean food in the neighbourhood. We did a three day hike in two days and it was no problem for us to leave our luggage in the pension and come back two days later to enjoy our room and a good breakfast again. We would recommend everybody going to Hwaeomsa temple or hiking in Jirisan, stay the night in this wonderful pension with its great owner, good breakfasts, classical music, art works and horticulture. You can notice that this is a pension that is run with love and joy.
