Hue Hotel

This is a clean budget motel which is in the town where High 1 ski resort is located, quite near to the town bus terminal. it is located a bit out of town but they do have a free shuttle service to take guests to the ski resort, which is helpful. They also have plenty of parking for those with a car. It is a standard Korean motel with average sized clean rooms, the usual facilities and big flat screen TV (no english stations). Took a while to find someone to come to reception when we arrived but a friendly, english-speaking man gave us our key a razor and toothbrushes. Then we got the lift up to our room. The room was extremely hot so we had to keep the window open all night as there is no way to adjust the temperature. Unfortunately we did not sleep well due to the hot room, very hard bed and noisy neighbours above who seemed to be partying on into the night. There is no restaurant at the hotel so you need to go out to eat. There seemed to be a few local places near to bus terminal, but there are more options down in the town (if you can get there). There ski resort itself has better eating options (the revolving restaurant on the top of the Mountain is very nice and not pricey). Also I had seen online that this place is opposite the casino, no it is not. The casino is on the other side of the valley. It is in a pretty quite semi-rural neighbourhood well out of town. It is probably better to stay closer to where there are more facilities and pay a bit more, although it still cost about $US80 a night (for a weekend).
