Los Girasoles is a nicely located apartment hotel in Zaragoza, and given previous reviews we had quite high expectations. Unfortunately we were let down in many areas, and the hotel therefore fell short on many areas.
Our first "meeting" was with the parking garage. It's nice that they have one, but it's maybe one of the most cramped ones I've ever been in, so keep that in mind if you have a larger car (we drove a BMW 5-series and could hardly fit when it was quite full).
Check in went smooth and well, but for some reason they only keep the wifi code on the desk in the reception, so you either have to memorize it or take a picture. How difficult can i be to put in writing in the room? When entering the room it was like a sauna there. AC had been put on 25 and it was unbearable. Luckily opening the windows and turning it down, made it acceptable in a short while.
The apartment itself (we had a standard one), is ok enough with what I would say is an average standard. However it was not cleaned properly. There was dirt coming out of the jacuzzi-nozzles in the tub, utensils had a somewhat sticky "coating" and we found hair and dust a lot of places. Nothing that made us want to leave, but not nearly good enough, and just sloppy.
We asked for a silent room, but got anything but one (doubt if there are any). We were there during Easter which means a lot of parades and people in the streets, which is not the hotels fault, but the main issues came from within. You could almost hear the neighbors breathe, and everytime someone in any apartments over/adjacent/below moved chairs, put on the water or did otherwise, it sounded like thunder. I'm really happy we have a small son, that almost sleeps through anything.
And for our son, this is the first hotel we've stayed in that charges for a baby cot. They also make sure you notice that if you lose your key, you will have to pay the locksmith yourself (even translated on a note in the kitchen to very bad english). If this is such a problem, modernize and start with key cards or similar. We did not try their breakfast, and not the pool area neither as the weather didn't allow for it. Service was ok, location great, but they have many areas to improve.
