We stayed in the garden apartment. As soon as we walked in we could smell damp. There was a dehumidifier in one of the bedrooms which was not a good sign. We opened all the doors and windows to clear the air which helped temporarily. The smell seemed to be permeating from the lounge and on moving a few conveniently place pots there were clear patches of damp and mould. By the second day, having spent the night with the smell of damp in the air, we contacted the owner whose response was to bring back the dehumidifier and offer us free use of the fridge contents in compensation. A gesture but we really wanted the problem resolved so we could get on with our holiday. We wrote to them again saying that their actions were inadequate but received no further communication. In our opinion the place is not fit to rent out in its current state. Apart from the noxious smell, the apartment needed some attention. Door handles came off in your hands, sliding doors to clothes cupboards had come of their runners and almost impossible to open and a vanity table had broken at the leg joints and was barely holding together. Location is good, pick up from the airport was efficient and on the surface the apartment was modern and nicely appointed but none of that mattered when you could only enjoy the place with a gale whistling through the apartment. It totally spoilt our stay and we will not be returning to or recommending the apartments.
