This hotel is just a few minutes walk from Madrid - Charmartin railway station which for us was just ideal as we were travelling to San Sebastian and departure is from that station. The hotel has a restaurant which is very good.

A group of us stayed in the Weare Charmatin at the start and end of our trip around Madrid. Very convenient for the eponymous railway station and metro (undercover direct access to both). Speedy reception. Wholesome Spanish breakfast (provided early for us two days) included. The three course table d'hote dinner (3 choices at each course) including beer costs €16.80 and was good value. My bedroom was a generous size with a shower. Recommended

This is a large impersonal hotel right by Chamartin station. Room comfortable. Bathroom fine. Sound insulation poor. Wi-fi did not work in room. Big choice at buffet breakfast, but hot food unappetising. Helpful staff on reception - but queues there at times. About as good as can be expected at the relatively low room rate, but I do not see myself staying there again.

Stayed 3 nights in Madrid on a winter which included new years eve. I was welcomed by a friendly and helpful receptionist when I arrived. The room is quite spacious probably about 18 sqm, no kettle to make tea but I knew this all along, shower with excellent pressure, bed was comfortable. downside is room is freezing at night because the aircon did not work well or default setting was at a minimum which created a lot of discomfort. My stay here was also uncomfortable because of the loud banging noise coming directly above us from the second floor , loud noises coming from the hallway, and sirens which I could hear coming from the outside. So basically, I did not sleep well as my sleep was disturbed by these loud noises which went on throughout the nights we stayed. My lack of sleep did not help me especially when I have to leave early in the mornings for our scheduled day trips. Breakfast buffet is excellent, tasty, and well manned by friendly restaurant employees. I have availed of the unfriendly bar service after 7pm on the 30th Dec and at that time, the bar was empty of customers and after I was served , I haven’t seen any employees who could assist me for a request for hot water to add to my bitter tasting coffee. Location is good and accessible to the city by public transport such as the train or metro. But it is NOT walking distance to grand via or palace of madrid. There are not much restaurants around the area apart from the average food being offered by shops in the train station. The area at night is quiet and nothing much going on. I don’t think much of the service being offered by the hotel overall comparing it to certain hotels i have used during my 3 week tour in Europe which included France and Italy. Apart from the not so friendly staff, the hotel could have done more in offering a new years eve meal package/ services for those who prefers to stay in the hotel for new year. Because there was none, my husband and I have to go to the city centre like Gran Via to find a place to celebrate New Year. Overall, an average hotel with a lot to improve on customer service and satisfaction. If your budget permits, hotels near Puerta del Sol are the way to go for easy access to Madrid’s few tourist attractions but lots of shopping.

Stayed here as part of the Shearings Classic Tour. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well setout. Breakfasts were good, but thought the food included for the evening meal for Tour party was very 'poor'. Eat the following night in the hotel bar and this was alot better. WiFI did not work in the room and feel this should be sorted out. Main advantage of this hotel is its access to the station and the metro, so if I was to travel independently would consider using this hotel again
