Great Parador up on its hill. Full of character and history. Good local products in restaurant and good portions. Monforte is an intriguing little town and definitely worth a visit. Take the train and enjoy the fine ride up the river valleysfrom Orense!

Excellent Parador with fantastic views and close the the Riveira Sacra sites. Receptionist was very helpful with directions and advise on places to eat. The restaurant provides good regional food and the service was first class

Undoubtedly, this has been one of our favourite Paradores. The building itself in monumental- part palace, part monastery, sitting atop a hill commanding views over the surrounding countryside. What made it distinctive though, was that there was a really nice attention to detail throughout the whole hotel and all the people there worked hard to make it a comfortable and welcoming environment. Our room was fantastic, overlooking the main entrance, large, comfortable and with everything we needed. We ate really well in the restaurant, which offered that night a delicious deer off the menu and also a highly-recommended egg and mushroom dish, alongside well-priced lovely local wines. Finally, I´d recommend visiting the tower, which isn´t run by the Parador, but Reception was helpful in offering information about both this and visits in the town of Monforte and surrounding area. Overall, this was an incredibly relaxing, happy and special stay for us and we will certainly come back.

We have stayed a this Parador on several occasions. It is a beautiful hotel and has a nice swimming pool. The breakfast was good and the staff very nice. Only thing I would say is 3pm seems to be rather a late check-in so we had to wait 45 minutes until our room was ready.

This Parador is beyond words. Breathtaking views from each room. Excellent service and 5-star dining. The old town is a beautiful 10 walk down the hill. Stunning! This is one of the best Parador stays I have had.
