Myxo gave us the incredible chance to get closer to a rural village in eSwatini. The cute little village in the middle of the mountain is a little hidden pearl. We arrived and saw a football match and the locals were all very friendly with us and willing to chat and know a bit about us. Unfortunately the visit to the school was not possible cause it was holiday period so we went for a walk and chat with Myxo he afternoon after we arrived. The day after we went for another walk and along the way we saw other houses and went for a brief visit to the Home stay's neighbours. We ate local food and slept in the traditional Swati hut. The drive to the place was pretty "intense" as the road is broken and full of holes, luckily nothing happened to our car but probably better to drive to there with Myxo who is better used to it than us, but yet...it was still part of the experience.

To keep it simple, let's say it was great! It started with Myxo welcoming us at the Manzini Market and presenting us our guide, that took a seat in our rented car to help us drive to the village (while giving us some informations along the way). Then, because it was a Sunday, we had the huge priviledge to be welcomed into the church where we got to see something we will not forget. After that, and in fact the whole time we've been there, Bobo and our guide gave us some many informations about culture, traditions... They answered our every question with such a opened-mind, a generosity. I cannot emphasize too much how much they gave us in terms of informations. They were, too, great in taking care of our needs, such as eating! Of course, visiting the family was great, and even more attending to a class in the primary school. We highly recommand it to anyone in search for an authentic and deeper visit of Swatizland culture.

We loved our stay with Myxo and Bobo in the Swazi Village Home Stay. Both of them were excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of during our 2-night visit. The first night, Bobo showed us a beautiful spot to watch the sunset, the next day we visited the village school and since one of the teachers did not make it to class that day, we actually were able to help teach the 5th grade mathematics class that day! It was such a great experience to interact and work with the children! We also visited the preschool and a family farm. That afternoon we took a hike with Bobo to see an incredible view of the village from the top of the mountain. We learned so much about life in Swaziland. We slept great in the grass huts, even better than at home! What a wonderful 2 days!

We had a wonderfull day tour with Myxo and his team. He took us to the market in Manzini, a rural school where we truly got the chance to meet the childeren and their daily program. After this he took us to the village in the mountains where the homestay is. Rural houses, lovely local food and interesting conversations about Swaziland and the life that people live. We got the chance to meet a local family and to share some time and experiences. Myxo is a lovely guide who truly takes his time to be with you and to let you leave the country with some knowledge and a warm heart that makes you want to come back again. Thank you Myxo!

The Swazi village tour is good for those looking to get away from the city live and have a more relaxed experience. You get an opportunity to learn the language, try the local maize, and stay in beehive huts. The activities you participate in with the locals will depend on your time and day of visit so plan accordingly.
