What differentiates a good hotel from great one. It's not the amenities, the room, the toiletries nor the food - it's the customer service. At Beausite Park Hotel it's a combination of courtesy, professionalism, family warmth and genuine care.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and throughout our stay had the feeling that nothing is a problem here. All our requests were handled immediately and some even before we asked for them. Those were small things that made a difference: i.e. on the first night we were asked whether we needed a high chair for our 3year old and as she insisted on sitting in a big chair, the staff brought a pillow which was always there waiting for her for the next meals. The restaurant (which by the way offered great food - we booked half board) gave us an option between kids menu or a dish from the regular menu. We could order one dish or more and we appreciated that flexibility as toddlers can be quite fussy about food. One evening, we asked for a very small portion of soup for my daughter and she did not really like it. However I loved it (it's the mustard soup - try it if it's on the menu) and upon mentioning it to the staff who was always around and very attentive, the waitress offered to bring me a portion as well. On the day we left, we realized we left a kids' sunhat when already at the train station with only 10min to the train departure. Not only did the hotel react immediately to our request to search for it, but they found it and brought it within minutes to the train station.
I won't mention too much about the hotel overall as a lot has been already written in other reviews. The rooms are nicely decorated (although with a strange curtain instead of a closet door - which my child found exciting and used to play hide & seek), the bed is VERY comfortable and the sheets are heaven. The half-board was delicious, breakfast is varied. The view is AMAZING and if you can, go for the Jungfrau view as it is hard to beat.
For those traveling with kids: there is a playroom (would be nice if it had windows but the big advantage of it is that it's not far from the restaurant so you can leave your kids there while you eat), a good sized swimming pool (a bit cold but acceptable), and bubbles. Kids also get their own cute SPA slippers and a bathrobe.
We also had an opportunity to try out the massage and it's a great way to unwind after a day in the mountains - thank You Heidi for a great massage.
A small section on what could be improved - tiny details but still. The sinks in the bathroom may need a drain fix as the water barely goes down unless you take out the plug. The balcony door did not stay open and we had to use a trash bin to keep it fully or half-way open. I believe the same was true for the window but opening the balcony door was sufficient for us. And the coffee at breakfast - it's either the coffee machine setting or the grinder but unfortunately the outcome is hard to drink. Hopefully this gets fixed by our next stay as we will surely come back to Beausite Park Hotel.
Thank You Family Leemann for making our stay so memorable.
