I can easily cruise around and return. Hotel situated in the heart of the city of Lumen, which is great. Many sites to see. But, breakfast is not included. Since 1998, Ive been a hotel guest in this hotel, I was very dissatisfied that it wasnt mentioned in the room reservation form. Breakfast a la carte is expensive. Fantastic for the quantity if you are on a diet. Like butter for breakfast, we had to call the server two, three times to bring us butter. That felt awful. The response was unpleasant. I believe I should have a waiter at the table when I want a nice, quiet breakfast with my husband. I wish the breakfast fee was included in the room rate. Bring the bag to the breakfast every morning because you must pay. Breakfast is included in Des Balances. The closest hotel. That's my next choice. I visited Des Apes for sentimental reasons, but that's it. Old visitors have not said a word about me in any way as they have walked back to me. That's all. So sad and disappointed.

In June 2022, we stayed at Hotel des Apes for five nights. We had a balcony room on the top level with a stunning panorama in all directions. We could see it when we gazed directly at the iconic chapel bridge. Pilates, the Russ River, Lake Laverne, and the lovely oldtown structures. Breakfast was not included in the hotel's cost, but we had breakfast there each morning on a table right next to the river. The warmth there was equally fantastic as the view. The reception staff was always helpful with information and greeted us with a smile. The room itself was immaculately clean and wellappointed and even had an espresso maker. We enjoy walking and could walk to a number of places we wanted to see from here, and we were also extremely close to the lakefront boat dock on lake laverne. Its in a busy area of town, but not in the spaciousbuilding way that downtown laverne is. It would be a pleasure to return to hotel des apes at any moment. Keep in mind that nothing in Switzerland is inexpensive, but we reserved our reservation here well in advance and found the price reasonable for the region and well worth it.

The location and view are unbelievably wonderful. We arrive and are very hot, completely unexpected. The hotel does not have air conditioning, but for the incredible weather, the hotel cannot be faulted for not having air conditioning. Fans were provided. The hotel did have a small elevator in an old structure right above the chapel bridge. Uncomfortable beds, but the room was spotless. The main reason to stay here is the proximity to the lake and train station, which is only a 2-minute walk away! For what it is, it's expensive, but you're only paying for the scenery.

Overall, a fantastic location to marry in Lumbina. It is located in the heart of the old town with a wonderful view of the chapel bridge. The train stop is directly across the lake. Parking was also simple because parkas is only a minute's walk away and I drove. numerous eateries and dining establishments. The transportation to the mountains is also readily scheduled and accessible here. The only drawback was that the room was a little small, but we were given one with a balcony overlooking the chapel bridge, so it was still excellent.

The hotel was located in the heart of the historic district. It was just what we were looking for. A small room, but clean and comfy. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but it was always busy and smelled delicious. Supportive staff, easily communicate in English. Short walk from the train station, which was also a plus. We would happily stay here again.
