The good stuff first
- nice staff, with a special mention for the cleaners who kept the place immaculately clean.
-adjacent to the station- it's very convenient
-accessible walks for hikers
-lovely views, albeit we were in a room at the back of the hotel
-nice pool and small but well-equipped gym.
Not so good...
We were on half board with Inghams, so this might not apply to other guests
-fixed dinner menu with no choice (albeit waiting staff did check if there was something a guest really didn't like)
-food quality: good but not the same quality as the last two Ingham hotels we'd tried. This might have been due to Covid 19 restrictions, so it is a qualified criticism
- cost of drinks: 9CF for a bottle of sparkling water! Come on guys, this wasn't even branded water.
-small plastic bottles of shampoo- isn't it time to do away with as much plastic as possible?
Overall, a good experience at a time when things are difficult for hoteliers. Moreover, the criticisms are from a first world privileged standpoint and are perhaps irrelevant in a post-Covid world.
