This hotel and the baths were a disappointment. The hotel staff were unfriendly and did not provide any information unless you asked for it. Like you had to know there was a tourist discount pass for them to think to offer it. Hotel parking was not included. Baths were not very well up kept and the Roman baths were closed, with no notice visible when we booked. The room itself was pretty non descript, and by 2 pm the next day they had not made up the room. We would not recommend this place.

Dirty garden, broken outdoor shower, old and not renovated hotel, no free parking, very poor value for money as we paid chf200 for what is worth maximum CHF100 p.night! The pictures speak by themselves - this hotel reminds us of communist time in Eastern Europe and looks like being a bankrupt place. We complaint to the staff who did not care having mainly foreign budget travelers.

I stayed in the property Jan 2021. Everything in the hotel has to be improved. Spent calling 2 days in a row to get through as there was no answer at all on day 1. Once I emailed to get booking confirmation, I received response stating the stay was confirmed but no booking details nor details of the hotel or details of the booking were mentioned. Upon arrival (since the restaurants were closed because of the Covid 19), we were asked to find a take away in town, as they were not serving lunch but they offered to book buffet dinner in the hotel. No sense here. The phone in the room was not working, no soap or shampoo (basic hygiene especially during the pandemic times were inexistent). Room needed desperate refurbishment, very poor rating for Swiss standards. To go to room we had to go out of the reception and go around the hotel to get there. To go to baths (which we got offered only one entry) we had to walk through the restaurant. I do not understand why they closed the access door to facilitate the passage. Same problem to get to the parking of the hotel, need to drive half town to get there. Food for breakfast was very basic. Hot water for tea was finished, cups as well, seems staff was lost in their tasks. Really disappointed with the stay there.

we (couple) spent 1 night in junior suite. The room with balcony was perfectly located. Use of the thermal bath of the community is free of charge. The hotel has also a private heated pool. However the entire hotel is not really cared for: There was no handsoap - we had to use shampoo. Toilet paper was missing - in these corona times . They had a closomat that did not work. It is better not to have a closomat if this does not work. In the drawers saw dust from an ancient repair job was still present. As customers, we deeply understand that in these hard times the situation for hotels is tough. However, it would be so easy to impress the customer at least to some degree, if the carpets, the drawers, the bathrooms, windows etc. were clean. The manager is either not existent or not aware how important it is to walk through the hotel every 2 weeks or so and write down everything he sees. In contrast to improvements of sanitary installations, painting, carpets, cleaning is really not expensive. Without these improvements the hotel in the longer range is doomed.

I had several concerns with the hotel. Pros: Good location and good value for money with the Weekday special. The pool was relaxing. Breakfast was included. The room was adequate. Cons: 1; The hotel is not COVID-19 prepared. The global pandemic at this point is not new and there was very little effort made by hotel to protect customers or staff. e.gs. - No staff wore masks - There was no room service. As a result, there was no option for you get food and drink without going to the restaurant. - The breakfast buffet was a nightmare. It is an air-conditioned room and no windows were open to allow the flow of fresh air at least. It was confusing to get around the buffet as there were no instructions to direct traffic. As a result, social distancing was impossible. When crowded, this could easily facilitate a superspreader scenario. It did not help that there were a lot of coughing people. Further, there were no take-away containers so that you could at least take your food to the room and minimise exposure. There are simple fixes that would have made me feel much more at ease and safer. 2. Service left a lot to be desired and was perplexing in terms of choices made. - Only one person worked the front desk and I waited 20 minutes in line to check-out. I've never waited in line this long to check out of a hotel before. This was highly unusual. - Service at the hotel restaurant Sacre Bon was very slow. We waited 35 minutes after we finished eating to receive the bill. This was after we asked to pay 3 times to 3 different staff members. - I made a simple request for an iron to be brought up to the room. They instructed me that I can only iron my clothes by the reception where they have an ironing board. Again, highly unsual.
