Friendly Staff - Very Welcoming. Good value for money, Clean and very Comfortable. Great Location. We stayed on two separate nights and experienced the same quality of excellent Customer Service on both occasions.

Katastrophe, völlig veraltet zu überhöhten Preisen! Türen schliessen nicht mehr, Management massiv unfreundlich. Disaster ! The hotel is completely outdated, doors almost don't close anymore, massively overpriced, hotel doesn't keep agreements, hands off !

We didn’t get to stay here because of the corona crisis. But I wanted to publicly say thank you. You contacted us prior to our booking. Despite us having a non refundable deal you refunded our money quickly and without hassle. This has to be applauded as we haven’t had this experience with all our hotels. So thank you and because of that brilliant customer service at a time when you are closed and have many bookings to contact. I will post positive reviews where possible, the family we have locally will now sing your praises and we will stay in the future when it’s all open again. Thank you.

First impressions were ok. Easy check-in and polite receptionist. The lifts are weird...they’re actual doors with handles! Room was really basic with no tea or coffee facilities although there is a fridge/minibar. Bathroom has Rituals products which is nice. The room, as I say, was basic. There’s already a lot of comments that the rooms have no air conditioning and people found the rooms hot. Mine was cold. The window clearly didn’t shut right because of the breeze and the noise. You have constant traffic and pedestrian noise from outside. And on your bed, as per other reviews, you get given ear plugs! Not exactly a vote of confidence. Just invest in decent windows and insulation! I didn’t find the nighttime’s noisy, so slept fine and didn’t need the earplugs. The bathroom and wardrobe looked like it had been thrown together with a bit of MDF and a lick of paint and a cheap glass panelled door from Ikea. Despite booking a double room, oddly, there was only one pillow. Although I was on my own, maybe I like two pillows!?! You do get a complimentary yoga mat though so maybe that’s supposed to double up! There was one power socket in the room, by the door, so any devices need to charges on the floor by the door. Also, you have to request an iron and ironing board from reception. The spa offers various massages, however, the massage therapist is only present on Wednesdays between 4pm and 10pm. So if you want spa treatments any other time, your luck is out. The actual spa area is really nice, three saunas, a steam room, jacuzzi, freezing cold plunge pool and a chill out area with tea and fruit. Of the three saunas, two are ‘normal’ saunas, one is 80 degrees and the other 90. The third is 60 degrees but as some sort of menthol aroma. The steam room also has some sort of nose-clearing aroma. The jacuzzi was a bit cold though. There are four showers within the spa area and separate male and female changing rooms. Do note though, that on the door into the spa it reads, ‘Naked Zone.’ So yes, it’s a nude spa although you can, of course, wear a towel. It’s unmanned and you need to collect towels from reception. Breakfast was a bit poor. Very small selection. There were the usual breads, meats and vegetables with cereals and a ‘fruit salad.’ The size of the fruit salad was probably enough for one persons serving! In comparison to other hotels, this wasn’t great. Aarau itself, I found, to be rather quiet and a little like a ghost town at times. This was midday midweek. The receptionist directed me to the city centre by pointing and she sent me in the opposite direction. The ‘city centre’ starts directly at the back to the hotel. Come out of the doors and turn left onto the main road and walk 50 yards! There’s a McDonald’s and Starbucks...of course! And there seems to be a plethora of restaurants but they all either were or looked shut during the day. The ‘city centre’ is tiny and you can cover pretty much all of it in about 20 minutes. Lots of quaint little streets and interesting architecture, however. Given the lack of hotels in Aarau, there isn’t much choice but if I were to come back for a night or two, I would stay here again.

We stayed one night at Sorrell Hotel Aarauhof, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located adjacent to the central rail station, and is relatively new. The rooms are well appointed, but they do have a strange lift/elevator system (efficient, but the type I’m not used to). From check-in to check-out, the staff were courteous and friendly. We dined in for dinner, and the food & wine range was very good. Our waitress was extremely good, and well informed on the food & wine. Breakfast was a well provided buffet. We’d stay here again.
