I was traveling to Taipei for one day to visit friends, and to attend a year-end celebration at a local live music restaurant called Music Corner. Just down the street was a decent hotel for me to crash in after the party. I wasn't expecting much, but when I retired for the evening, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's amenities.
The room was spacious, very comfortable, and had amenities that I would expect in a hotel that was twice as expensive. I was able to soak in the tub while watching TV, and the bed was luxurious. The next morning, I had a nice in-room work space for my computer work.
The staff was friendly and spoke some English. Breakfast was decent. The location was very convenient, of course.
