At first glance, the hotel looks very nice from the inside, specifically the lobby. However, that’s where the positive impressions ended. The first room we were given was dirty and had chipped mugs. The second room was relatively clean, but still had many problems.
Firstly, it smelled like a sewer more often than not. When we told them about the smell, they just came to our room and turned on the bathroom fan (which did not help). I should add that there is no phone in the room so we had to go downstairs for every request.
There was also a dog barking constantly next door, which, to be fair, was not under their control. But it showed how thin the walls are. Likewise, there was almost constant noise from the hallways.
Additionally, they either cut the power to our floor or a circuit fleas tripped, because the hall lights were off and the AC was dead when we returned from lunch. We went downstairs (again) to let them know; they flipped a switch and everything turned on again. I should also mention that there were mosquitos in the room.
No free coffee (which has been standard everywhere else we’ve stayed).
Complementary breakfast was not good and not hot.
Lastly, our last night we heard knocking on our door after we were already getting ready for bed. We told them to wait several times while we got dressed enough to answer and the knocking continued impatiently. We opened the door and it was a strange woman who stared at us blankly, apologized, then left abruptly. After we closed the door we heard her knocking impatiently at the door next door.
