•Location• The resort is located at Khlong Han Beach. It is a clean and quiet beach, one of the nicest on the island. From the lobby area, you can see the beach easily and walk to it. •Room• Room is new and cozy. The resort was built like a big house with approx. 10 guest rooms with living area. However, you cant see the beach from your room, only Mangroves which are still nice •Service• This was where we ran into some problems. I did not feel very welcomed there. They did not communicate much with guests. (Probably language barrier?) Actually, I can tell that staffs are nice but they just do not know how to serve their guest who have paid to stay there. They need more training. •Restaurant&Food• This was another issue. There is not much selection but they will make anything custom you want. Why not add more items to the menu then? Further, if you want something else it is very difficult to leave the resort and riding a motorbike on an unpaved road (just sand at certain points) is dangerous. It seems like staff dont like to serve their guests (unacceptable). I know that last order for dinner is supposed to finish at 8PM so i decided to get something to eat at 7.40PM after a nap, but they had already seemed closed at that time. Once i asked if they were closed, they only looked at each others and looked at me and said it's okay if i want some ice-cream... This made me feel bad because if you are staying there, there is no other places to eat and it is basically impossible to leave. You have to eat at the resort but they do not want to serve you. (Again, they need to be trained). Also breakfast is exact the same everyday. They have only bread, eggs, and coffee, no meat. The jam and eggs are good though and made to order, but again no meat :/ •Facilities• No pools, Free Kayak (i heard that you have to pay 300 thb for kayak at some places), motorbike rental 300 thb a day. One downside here was the motorbike we were given. They had 3 there. 2 that were brand new and 150cc, but bother days we were given a very old 125cc one that had difficulty with hills. Also, they gave it to us with no gas in the tank the first day and did not even mention it. Nor warn us about the sand danger while trying to drive up the hill. You're semi trapped at the resort and I DO NOT suggest riding the motorbike unless you have good experience. The road out of the resort is not one you want to learn on. ***note*** they do not accept any credit cards, cash only

We stayed at A La Koh Kood for 3 nights in June, 2020. The hotel pictures on Facebook looked very nice and the place was even recommended by our dive centre, so we booked a "mangrove view" room in Building B. The booking was managed via Facebook Messenger, since the hotel web site was down. On our arrival at the pick up point on the main road, there was no driver waiting for us as agreed and it was impossible to reach the staff either by mobile phone or Messenger. After half an hour waiting the car finally came (apparently our ferry from Trat had arrived earlier than expected by the staff) and a few minutes later the reservations manager called to apologise about a malfunctioning of the mobile phone line, which had prevented her from answering our calls before. The hotel is about 1 km into a dirt road in the forest, which is in very bad maintenance conditions apparently due to lack of agreement between several local owners and Koh Kood's municipal administration. Nthing to blame on the hotel's side for it, but still it takes some 15 minutes of slow driving on a pick-up, which still can feel like riding a rollercoaster, and once there it is practically impossible to go anywhere on foot or by motorcycle. Upon arrival, we discovered that the hotel's restaurant had run out of seafood and fish, so our only choice seemed to be chicken or pork, which was quite disappointing since we were on an island. Moreover, the blue lagoon advertised on Facebook turned out to be actially some brown, muddy canal, since it was the rainy season (again, not the hotel's fault, but the advertisement could have been clearer about this point). So far on the negative side; on the positive one, the local staff and the Pattaya-based reservation manager were very helpful to take care of every problem and after some polite negotiation even arranged for us a free transportation on the first day to visit the Khlong Chao waterfall and have dinner at Ao Yai (since we complained that the hotel men's only choice was chicken or pork). The following evening we were able to have food sent in from another restaurant, paying just 100 Baht more for the delivery service and on the next day the hotel's pantry was finally replenished and we were able to enjoy a superb dinner on the terrace, with complimentary durian offered by the management. Breakfast was exceptional every day, with a wide choice of both Thai and Western food and the staff was dedicated and polite all the time. The beach, less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, was nice and we could enjoy it since we were apparently the only guests there. The rooms and toilets were clean and the common environments elegant and well kept: probably the view would have been even better during the dry season, when the lagoon becomes less muddy. We may consider coming back again during the high-season for a total relaxation holiday, considering that moving around from the hotel remains difficult due to the location and road conditions, and would totally recommend the restaurant.

We enjoyed a most relaxing vacation in Koh Kood and particularly at A La Koh Kood resort. Superb location on a small inlet lagoon full of fish which leads directly to the Sea and a gorgeous beach. Resort facilities intimate with few rooms. Staff very friendly and prepared to help with all necessities. Restaurant food exceptional and open to out of menu requests. All guests including us very content of the experience and warm hospitality. Owner extremely special person. Highly suggested 👍
