This hotel locates on the main street, very easy to find. It is just 20 minutes from the Golden Triangle if you plan to visit there in the morning. The facility of the hotel is normal to find but clean. Recommend not to choose room at the front of the hotel, it's very noisy at night from the main road.

We had originally planned to stay for about 3/4 nights but ended up leaving after two. It would seem that noise is a problem for this hostel. During our stay, 'Love fest 2015' (not a joke) was taking place one block over and blasted music out from early evening until midnight. It was so loud that it rattled the A/C on the wall in our bedroom - FROM AN ENTIRE BLOCK AWAY - you had to be there to believe it! How people could bear being anywhere near the actual festival is a mystery. If this wasn't enough, everyday, all day from 8am a convoy of 4x4 trucks drove up and down the (only) main road in Mae Sai, next to Afterglow Hostel, blaring out adverts and Westlife music. Now, I realise that these events are nothing to do with the Hostel per se but looking at other reviews, noise does seem to be an issue. So, if you are looking for a quieter stay i would suggest finding somewhere off the main road, as we did. It's a shame really because the Hostel is decent and you can tell that someone has put a lot of effort into doing it up (if polished, varnished concrete is your thing). They did try to put us in one of the 'cottages' out back but we asked to see another room and the rooms in the main building are much nicer, albeit when there's no noise. With regards to the staff, they don't seem to speak much English and when we enquired about the times for (free-included) breakfast we were told that they they no longer did breakfasts, only to find a selection of fruit and hot/cold drinks when we came down the next morning that other guests were helping themselves to. Odd. They had what seemed to be a cafe in the lobby but it was permanently closed and looked like it hadn't seen any customers for a while...ever? Not sure I'd go back. Find somewhere closer to the border and/or off the main road.

The rooms towards to highway are thanks to mearly a thin glass window between you and the constant traffic noise uninhabitable and shouldnt be rented out. The shower knows only extremely hot or cold water as only half of the showerhead holes are working the water flow in the heater is so limited that on lowest level you have boiling hot water on your skin or you chose to turn water at full and get skinned alive. Internet non existing in the rooms. That was my night awake.

We stay on cottage type. Toilet was totally wet from water at first time of use. The room has a humid smell. We transfer deposit in advance but the reception didnot know and charge us at fullrate. Paid by credit card will be charged for 3%. Hotel can not issue tax invoice.

Nice place about 20 minutes walk from the bus station and 54 minutes walk to the Mae Sai/Burma border. Reception was friendly but didn't speak much English. The room was really nice and even the small room had a fridge. The wifi was good, as was the hot shower. It can get noisy as it's next to the main road, so ear plugs are useful. It's about 20 minutes walk from Mae Sai bus station but there's a 15 Baht Song thouw which will also do the job. It's just over 40 minutes walk to the Mae Sai/Tachiliek border. The restaurant area was unmaned when I was there. I coulnd't find any local restaurants with English menus so I ended up going to a 7-11 5 minutes walk away. There's also a big Tesco shopping centre with restaurants too about 15 minutes walk away. The breakfast was coffee, toast and bananas..
