Stayed 2 nights in a decent sized room on the 4th floor. Cost 350 baht per night so really cheap. About £8 at the time! No breakfast included.
The room did not have drink making facilities but it did have a large fridge.
Very tired looking room and hotel. Room was dusty and had various dead insects on the floor and an infestation of ants, so common in Thailand. These were not an immediate threat to my sleeping so I put down some poison and the next day there were 2 large dead clumps of them in the bathroom. Job done.
I recommend taking Nippon ant killer (can buy in UK) around with you or buying some ant powder from Big C supermarket which also kills cockroaches. Nippon kills the nest and for small ants this works in about 30 minutes.
The bed was surprisingly comfortable but as a matter of caution having seen some old stains on the sheets, I slept on top and used my own pillow. If possible I always take my own pillow....don't want to inhale someone else's dribble residue. Sorry to be gross.
Excellent shower...very powerful and good heat if needed. A/C worked fine.
Nice staff. Not much English spoken here and the hotel was quite full with mainly Thai people - university students and teachers perhaps and also groups who were on some sort of course.
Good parking. Excellent position next to the municipal lakes and gardens and very short walk into town, passing several bars and eating places.
No lift and it seems they always try to put tourists on the top floor.
I also viewed a "resort" room. This is a detached hut basically. Could not recommend them. More money at 500 baht per night but smaller and very dark, tiny bathroom, exactly the same furniture etc as the hotel. Only extra was a table and 2 chairs outside. Only advantage was no stairs to climb. Disadvantage was some of them were alongside entrance road and some guests drove out early in morning so you are likely to get disturbed.
Warning - if you intend to pay each day, do not forget to do it early in day. I forgot and the electric to the room was cut automatically by the computer system and the night watchman who didn't really understand me could not get it on again. So no a/c or hot shower or main light or fridge overnight. Bathroom light and 1 socket worked though!
This is a cheap place and it showed. I would not choose to stay more than 2 nights but if on a budget its good value. What can you expect for £8?
Tesco is a short distance away...you can see the sign..easy by car..quite a long walk I think in the heat.
