We’ve travelled a lot but this is by far the worst service ever experienced! When we contacted the receptionists about lack of wifi, wet cigarette buds at the pool or black water coming out of the shower and taps, we were met with laughter or complete indifference as they just rolled their eyes at us at said there’s nothing to be done. This place made me so uncomfortable and I would never stay there again. I don’t mind a worn down place that doesn’t work perfectly, but I found the facilities as well as the service severely disgusting.
OLD/SEWER WATER IN THE SINK/BAD WIFI/
The place is a little old with unfinished kitchenettes/random details and poorly maintained. The wifi didn’t work (at all!) until we moved to the main building/the side with the reception on the ground floor, where wifi sometimes worked a bit.
We had black water coming out of the taps in the shower, sink and toilet, which was really gross. When we asked the staff to help us with the issue, they said they could maybe fix it later. We asked if we could move to a clean room with functioning facilities, but we’re told no rooms where available. We knew that wasn’t true as we had literally just seen 3 couples check out. After a long discussion they agreed to move us to a new room the same afternoon. However, 10 min later, the staff let themselves into our room without knocking and said we had to pack all the stuff and move NOW. Three staff members and no one offered a hand with a bag or anything. When we got to the new room it wasn’t ready because housekeeping hadn’t had time (thus we were suppose to move in the afternoon). It took half a day and asking 4 times to get the last basic things as bed sheets.
Same lack of service happened when we wanted to use the beach shuttle - which btw only drives you from the hotel to the beach and not back though the driver is going back to the hotel (one way shuttle as they called it). We chose the place despite being far from the beach because of the promised shuttle which was confirmed to us when we checked in. However, whenever we showed up at the announced departure time, we were told the driver had the day off and there was no shuttle, but we could walk or we could pay for a taxi. We insisted we shouldn’t have to pay extra for a service that was support to be free, but the reception insisted there was nothing she could do. Not until we asked to talk to the manager, a driver magically appeared.
CIGARETTE BUDS AT THE POOL
The hotel describe itself as smoke free and all rooms there are signs threatening with fees if anyone smokes. However, only some of the rooms are actually managed by the hotel, while the other rooms are rented out as apartments, where smoking is allowed. So you can have a non-smoking room right next to a smoking resident. Guests also smoked at the shared facilities e.g. at the pool where we found several cigarette buds. We made the staff aware of this, they didn’t care.
