Came here for breakfast every morning, a local lady owner that knows exactly what foreigners need! Pancakes and fried breakfast was in the top 3 on the island. Staff extremely friendly and not just for show. I didn’t stay in their accommodation but from the outside it looked lovely. Cafe was full most mornings which is always as good sign of quality.

We spent the best part of our fortnight in Thailand at Baan Suan. We were knocked out by the location, warmth of welcome and personal touches that Lily and her staff gave. We were provided with all the information we needed to explore the island. Nothing was too much for them. We were in Room 3 and it was spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Perhaps a reading light next to bed would be a useful touch but apart from that we have no complaints. A previous guest had ranted about a supposed mouse in her room. Utter nonsense as the noise is geckos outside. It is a forest surrounding after all. I noticed several westerner guests were rude and unfriendly during our stay. If you are uptight and find it difficult to even bid people good morning then I’d seek out a self catering option. Sulky unsatisfied Western faces glued to smartphone screens or making blunt and rude demands on the lovely people here was something I found pretty shameful. Snap out of it before you go to kho kood and you will get much more from your trip. A smile goes a long way here. We loved Baan Suan.

My wife and I were coming back from the beach, craving for a coffee and we crossed the parking area to enter the coffee shop. We would also ask the accommodation price since it's close to Siam Beach and we would like to extend for 1 week. Then, we were approached by a very hostile woman with an English accent who said we could not cross because it was private property. We were terrified with her approach as we would be a potential customer for coffee and accommodation. Now I ask you, how could a couple walking through the parking area of a property in the middle of the jungle impact her business? it makes no sense at all! She lost 2 customers and now have a negative review on Tripadvisor. Congratulations! PS. if you are this lady who kicked us out, I would advise using one simple question:: Can I help you? Then it would differentiate between a customer or someone who is just crossing your "PRIVATE LAND".

We booked a room thru Expedia at Baan Suan Guesthouse on Koh Kood and were told by the owner when we arrived that she had made a mistake and double booked our room to a walk in customer. She apologized and had already booked us into another guesthouse, telling us it was better than her guesthouse. The owner was so friendly and delightful that we accepted her explanation and were grateful she had found us other accommodations. We discovered later that night that the price of the new guesthouse was 300 bhat less than the guesthouse we originally booked. As the story unraveled we learned that the owner of Baan Suan had done this to a Norwegian traveler and Thai family just recently. Essentially by taking the walk over the Expedia booking she saved the booking commission. In addition, by putting us into less expensive accommodations she pocketed the difference. BEWARE- the owner is very congenial and we were completely taken in.

Not connected to the sea, no breakfast, very simple room. Way overprice for what we paid for. We booked here for other places were full. I suggest you try to book other local places that were not listed on the websites.
