We were late-in-the-day walk-in guests, having just driven down from Bangkok. My wife discovered this hotel on Thai-language hotel sites ...and we were not to be disappointed.
The hotel is nicely designed and well constructed ..given the fact that it is right at the sea front ..the entire place is very well maintained.
The young lady checking us in ..friendly, helpful, professional.
We had big family room all to ourselves: many a five-star hotel doesn't offer amenities that we had in Baan Talay ..a lot of attention to detail, from tablet computer right down to an electric foot massage device. The bed was absolute heaven ...their choice of bed linen is amazing; the bathroom was a delight.
The only downside was the somewhat anaemic breakfast with horrible coffee ..so better bring your own jar of Nescafe.
The entire Thungwualaen beach stretch has been nicely developed by the local authorities, clean, easy to get around on foot, heaps of small seafood restaurants..
about 400 m south is a great beach front restaurant with live blues music, great food, Bavarian beer, and all very reasonably priced.
We will be back for sure !
