We decided to stay at Bangsaphan Beach Resort because it was pretty cheap and had a lovely clean pool. It was right on the beach with a couple of restaurants across the road. We met the lovely English speaking manager ‘Sammy’ who showed us the few rooms they had with large beds rather than the twin bed rooms which feature on all of the hotel booking websites. The ‘Executive’ room overlooking the pool and the beach was big and bright with a huge bathroom and a clever shutter window which turned a section of the room into an indoor balcony but it was more than our budget. We took the upstairs one of only 2 rooms with large beds. It had all the necessary inclusions (aircon, fridge etc) and a balcony with partial pool and sea views. We started with 4 nights and stayed for 6. While the rooms would benefit from some renovation/maintenance work (painting etc), they are cleaned every day, everything works and they offer fantastic value for money with the resort’s pool and location.
After moving on to Chumpon to a prior hotel booking for a few days we decided to return to Bang Saphan for another 4 night stay. Sammy and her team welcomed us back like we were family (and we got to stay in the poolside room this time). Bangsaphan Beach Resort is now firmly on our list of places to stay during our next visit to Thailand’s south.
