Attached to this hotel is the Cafe de Aerng, well worth a stop when travelling to Chiang Mai, they have tables inside and on the terrace, the coffees were well prepared and the selection of cakes was appetising. The boutique hotel is attached, they also a music room for night entertainment

It's a nice place to take photos but the room it's quite dirty and bathroom as well, I found some hair in bed in towel!! The reception not always in front office so I have to walk around to find them. But the breakfast is acceptable you can choose between American breakfast or boiled rice.

Very nice clean speak modern rooms with a lovely strong shower. Staff were attentive and helpful and we were welcomed with iced drinks and shown to our room. The food was inexpensive and good, and the air conditioned restaurant bar was lovely - both modern and comfortable, with a choice of dining tables or a sofa area (recommended!). The only downside for me is that there is little else very nearby, so best as a stopover, or somewhere where you just stay in the hotel and enjoy the pool and restaurant for a couple of days.

"Passport and pay now " was the only and first contact with the stuff , the room smells like an old fart , We tried the pool for 1 minute ( see the picture I made ) .... I do not know what these black coverings on the bottom are , but they are slippy and slimy .... Ah ... and worst thing is the 4 line Autobahn next to the house .... main road connection to Chiangmai . So I did not care about the burning of garbage in the opposite property and the heavy construction work in the backyard .... it is almost impossible to find too . only nice to mention is the very good food !!! Good luck Ps: did I mention the sand flies in the pool area ?

We had a terrible terrible time at De Aeng. We arrived and were shown to our room. The restaurant was shut which we had not been warned about in advance - there was nowhere else to go as we had been advised not to drive at night due to drink drivers. The room was tired and scrappy compared to how they try to market themselves, but we shrugged this off. However, after flushing the toilet in the bathroom that's when the smell started, and it seeped into the whole room. It was so disgusting that I felt incredibly sick and we had to ask to be moved rooms. There was just a night porter on by this point and he managed to understand that we needed to change rooms. He showed us to another room which seemed to smell fine. However, there was the same problem in this room. As soon as you opened the bathroom door, or used the taps or the water. They have a MAJOR SEWAGE PROBLEM. We shut the bathroom door and felt like we couldn't use it all night because the smell just kept seeping into the room. What's more there were BLOOD And what I hope were coffee stains on the sheets of this room. We looked online for other places to stay but there wasn't anywhere, and nobody on reception to help us anyway. The next day we told the reception staff we wanted to leave, did not want the second night and certainly didn't want to be charged for it, and we weren't happy to pay the ridiculous price for the disgusting room so wanted to negotiate something more reasonable. Whilst we were in reception area not leaving, my partner was on the phone to the manager trying to discuss this and she called the POLICE on us!! We weren't even going anywhere! The police really did arrive, and the poor receptionist was trying to dissipate the situation saying 'it's fine its ok it's ok'. Unbelievable, we have never been treated in such a way. We paid the room price anyway, which we had been given about 10% off, and we got evidence of the agreement we would not be paying the second booked night and we would leave and go back to Chiang mai. However, unsurprisingly the hotel then reported to booking.com that we were a 'no show'. What's more - there were dirty mops hanging around the cafe toilet area, literally at eye level, the toilet was blocked and the pool - the reason we booked it - was filthy. The 'concrete chic' they are going for does not work at all, it's like a prison block. The room was majorly shabby with dents and scraps and stains everywhere. A random shoe under the bed which shows cleaning quality. Very busy road outside too.
