First of all we’re a couple from England, 25y/o, we knew this was for one night only before heading to Chiang Mai. We arrived around 6ish and got checked in, Pu came over from her other hotel across the road, literally a tiny side street. She checked us in and made us feel very welcome. We were shown to our room which was very basic but the bed was comfy, there was a toilet, shower, a/c, a fridge and a table area to put your stuff. The a/c worked great so the room soon cooled down. Yes the room could’ve been cleaner, a quick flick around with a duster to get rid of some cobwebs, but nobody is perfect and this was £15 for the night! It was spot on! Like I say it was one night, probably the best nights sleep I’d had in a while. We went for some tea (KRB I recommend) then back to hotel to sleep and checked out the follow morning. PU let us leave our bags and we explored Ayutthaya as our train was the night train. We got back to the hotel and showered before our train. It was 100baht to rent 2 towels for the shower, we could use our own but this saved us drying time. PU then organised us a taxi to the station. Overall if you’re here for 1 night wanting to save some money then it does the job. The boat trip she offers is nothing special but you get to go see some temples and have a ride on a boat. There was only 1 temple I’d say that was worth visiting. That worth it I’ve forgot the name atm! But at 200baht per person, she’s making a great profit because you then have to pay at the temples! She didn’t mention this, obviously cos she’d have lost out because a Tuk tuk would be cheaper in total if there’s at least a couple.

This guesthouse has same owners as PU Inn resort which is close to. Really happy with our room. It has everything you need. Great shower, clean sheets and towels, fridge with water, Sitting area,TV, space to put things down. Friendly welcome with advice on seeing temples here. Great location. 10 min walk from minivan drop off. Restaurants and shops nearby. Cycle hire nearby. Would stay here again. There is a pool for extra 100 B but not here long enough to use it so can't review.

We stayed here for four nights towards the beginning of our tour around Asia, and we found it very comfortable! The room was spacious and consisted of a large double bed, a dressing table and a fridge, with two lounging chairs and a small table in between. The room was suitable and just what we needed! The shower room was a strange layout with the shower right over the toilet, however the water was hot and we didn't have any issue with it. The guesthouse was only a short walk to the temples and ruins which was great, and would only be a short tuktuk ride if you didn't want to walk. It is tucked away down a smaller road which is nice as you don't walk straight out onto a main road. The main road that it connects to has a few little restaurants and bars which were lovely and played live music from 9pm until about 10:30-11:00! The staff were friendly and helpful and on our arrival supplied us with a free map of Ayutthaya and located certain things to see, including where the night markets were and their opening times. There were two night markets, both walking distance from our hotel. One was located close to the river and which is passed if you do go on the boat trip, however the one located more in town is a lot better! They are meant to finish at about 8pm, which i thought was odd for a night market, but if they are busy they usually stay open a bit longer! There is a luggage room where you can keep you bags until 9pm if you aren't leaving Ayutthaya straight away which was great for us! The only downsides being that the wifi was a bit temperamental at times, and there isn't cleaning service in the room, you have to ask for the room to be cleaned which we didn't know about until we checked out. Also, there is no facility to pay by card which is a bit annoying as it costs £5 per withdrawal at Thai ATMs. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here at PU guesthouse and would recommend it to our friends! Thank you to all the staff!! :)

Good position for temples and ruins and comfortable soft beds. Cheap enough at 600 baht for a double bed with hot shower and a/c. Rooms small. Shower room tiny. No natural light in our room due to building within 1 metre of window, because the hostel comprises 2 buildings very close to each other with a ramp between them. You can use decent swim pool at sister hotel PU Inn across road for 100 baht per person per day - a fair option for the budget traveller. PU Inn room was about 1200 baht and not hugely different. Pool clean and well maintained and sun beds included. No breakfast included. Very noisy hotel because you have to slam close the doors on exit. So early leavers or those in and out will wake everyone up. Hotel staff start early (around 6.30am) and we heard them from our room as the noise carried between the 2 buildings up to our permanently open shower window. No wardrobe. Small table. 1 bedside table. Barely adequate lighting. We booked 1 night and stayed 3 so despite criticism above we considered it good value budget end place. Family staff a bit uninspiring except lady owner who was helpful but a bit abrupt and keen to sell taxi services and boat trips. But even though she came across as money orientated, her boat trip was 100 baht less at 200 baht than some places. Warning though - she takes you boat but they don't bring you back and so if you haven't done your research you will need a taxi back from the night market (it is walkable). Phillipino lady great. Free wifi good. Excellent English breakfast on main road v close to hotel road. Includes fruit juice, plate of fruit, fry up, tea or coffee, 2 round toast with jam & butter. 180 baht.
