My girlfriend and I stayed in Island Café & hostel for 1 night during our trip to Ko Lipe. The guesthouse is located right in the heart of Walking Street. We walked through Pattaya beach into Walking Street upon settled at the immigration checkpoint (option to take tuk-tuk from checkpoint, THB50/pax/way, luggage with an additional charge). We almost miss out the hostel as the setting looks more like a café (look for a big pink melting ice-cream cone deco when you’re passing along Walking Street, opposite to tour agency). There’s a cafe selling homemade gelato, coffee, light snacks at ground floor and hostel rooms were at the first and second floor. We are welcomed by friendly staffs upon arrival (hostel guests get an additional 10% discount on the menu). We stayed in master bedroom of the family room (last minute upgrade due to flight rescheduled to Langkawi). The family room is beautifully decorated, with comfortable sofa set and pantry (first floor), 2 rooms sharing the separated shower and WC compartment (second floor). The master bedroom is well equipped with safety box, tv and etc. The bed is comfortable (pillows are too soft for us). The room gets stuffy in the evening, but, air-condition works efficiently. We enjoyed our stay at Island Café & Hostel despite climbing up narrow stairs to reach our room. On the other hand, I personally adore the overall setting & deco in the hostel, the attention to details; efficient of spatial planning & well curated space; a pocket of green terrace tucked away from the busy walking street and etc. Really great value of money and highly recommended!!
