Overall experience is ok, although much of the credit goes to the room itself (very decent in terms of material and size) and to the service from the concierge (head concierge in particular) who managed to do everything he could to make us feel better after a disappointing check-in experience at the reception (we had to wait for more than 40 mins for the room to be ready and that was our first impression of the hotel, which was quite upsetting and we had to be the one keep following up 3 times ).
The room should be ready when guest arrived, especially when we confirmed 1 day in advance about the check-in time and preferred bed type. Even if it's not ready for some reasons, it would be nicer if someone actually tried to solve a problem and update us, instead of having us wait without knowing what's going on (while watching other new guests coming in one after the other) and telling us to change the bed type to twin bed instead (when we told them 1 day in advance we wanted king-sized bed). As a 5-star hotel, you should do much better.
However, we appreciated the complimentary food they managed to offer us after such a long waiting and bad 1st impression. Most of all, we appreciated the head concierge on that day who seemed to be the only one trying to offer his best service. We'd come back mostly because of him.
