We had made two reservations at Lipe Camping Zone through Agoda (who apparently used booking.com) where I had booked a Bungalow with Private Bathroom (as opposed to Shared bathroom / tent or private room with Air Con).
First we could not find it, we had asked when we arrived on Pattaya beach, and they gave us a map, where it showed next to a hotel called Sita. We went there, but no lipe camping zone in sight. We called them three times, and they could not manage to tell us where they were located (turns out the people who handle the phone are NOT located at koh lipe at all, and have no clue where it is!). We had to find a taxi driver who told us where it was ACTUALLY located (after z touch). So we managed to find it after a few hours..
We get there and they tell us that we have booked a bungalow with SHARED bathroom, and they wanted us to pay almost 50% more to get what we actually paid for. They call the people who are off koh lipe, that we previously talked to. They tell the lady at reception that she had already emailed me (true, she asked me to confirme the two bookings I made)and then proceeded to lie that she had emailed me to tell me I would have to pay more for the private bathroom. The lady got really rude and told us that "this happens all the time" - so we guess its their policy to get tired guest arriving to pay more... We called agoda to say we wanted to cancel as we did not get what we had booked without having to pay more. The poor guy at Agoda got a bit confused, and also though we had booked wrong. Turns out we did not book wrong, you can see for yourself when you book - if you book with SHARED bathroom VS private bathroom. But even if your booking says "bungalow with bathroom" as opposed to the "bungalow with shared bathroom" they will still say you only booked with shared bathroom. Apparently "bungalow with bathroom" equals "bungalow with shared bathroom" to these people, and you will always have to pay more. Scammers!!
So yeah, never again!
Only bright thing, this man who was there, who we later saw was doing the snorkeling trips, was very nice, he actually apologised on behalf of the other lady.
I was told that they would not charge for the cancellation, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that they still charged for it...
