Loy Garden Mansion

Stayed here 2 separate times during visit to Thailand. Out of 4 other places stayed in this area, this was the cheapest and the nicest. Moved hotels a bit because the first one had very poor internet, very poor hot/cold water shower, poor air-con and was more than double the price! Then tried another one just to see what it as like as it was newer, but came back here because it was more comfortable. This hotel is very basic, but very clean in the 2 separate rooms I was in, air-con worked well, everything felt comfortable, and half the cost of other places I stayed which looked more impressive but were not as nice. Breakfast is only coffee but that's ok as step literally out of the door and you have plenty of food stalls to take your pick, most of the other in-hotel breakfasts weren't worth it and better to go out to eat fresh and healthy as the locals do anyway! The reception staff has little to no english, but if you just ask for a room, pay the 300-400 baht, that's pretty much all you need to do anyway. They understand enough to handle numbers and price / days :) Most of the other hotels with (somewhat)-english speaking staff were nearly full, whereas this hotel had easy availability. (I had Thai speaking assistance so I could call to book ahead, and was told any day was fine they are never full). It's not 5 star, but I'd call it a hidden gem!
