I was in Sukhothai for three days and stayed at Ma-Room Place. I booked the room thru Agoda since it was on Book Now Pay Later promo and had free cancellation. I paid about 580 baht per night. From the Sukhothai Bus Station, the hotel is almost ten kilometers away. The local songthaew from the Sukhothai Bus Station downtown passes this hotel on the way to the Historical Park and it only costs 30 Baht. There are tuktuks that offer their services from the bus station but their prices are much higher. Ma-Room Place is about 2 km from the Sukhothai Historical Park. The park is accessible from here by foot, songthaew or by bicycle. Bicycles may be rented from Ma-Room Place at 50 baht per day. I used their bike for three days but since I arrived late in the afternoon on the first day, they waived the fee for the first day. Their bikes are well-maintained and had good quality locks but lacked a bicycle bell and lights (which would have been useful since there are sites and events in Sukhothai that are good to visit and explore at night). The room I booked was a Standard Double Room with no breakfast. Upon arriving at Ma-Room Place, I found out that the room that they reserved for me was a Queen Room with breakfast—at no additional charge. Checking-in was a quick and they handed me my hotel key card. My room was in the second floor and unfortunately, they did not have an elevator; their staff assisted my in carrying my 2 luggage bags upstairs. The room was spacious and I was able to open both my luggage bags beside the bed with room to spare. It had a refrigerator, its own shower and toilet with hot and cold water, a table, cabled television (the broadcasted mostly Thai channels) and a terrace. They also provided two 350-ml bottles of water each daw, which I placed in the freezer so that it will stay cold for longer while I bike around Sukhothai. The Queen-sized bed was comfortable and the sheets clean and tidy. The refrigerator remained powered on even after removing the key card from the power supply slot. The water supply was strong even at the second floor. The condenser of the air-conditioning unit was located at the terrace, which was about two square meters big. The terrace served as the smoking area (they had an ash tray provided) and drying area, which proved convenient since I had to do a bit of laundry. The view was not too pleasant though—the neighboring house and yard. The hotel had complimentary Wi-Fi access. My download speed logged at 50Mbps. Uploading my travel photos to Google Drive was a breeze. The breakfast, served from 7 to 10 am, that came with the room was simple. The dining area is at the lanai in front of the hotel. At one end of the lanai is laid out the various packed biscuits and cookies, ready-to-mix drinks in sachet, white bread, and an assortment of spreads. The biscuits included crackers, coconut cookies, and Belvita. The ready-to-mix drinks were coffee, Milo, and cereal drinks. They had margarine, orange jam, strawberry jam, and what I think was blueberry jam (the jams were not very good, though). There was a bread toaster there so you can have your bread heated or toasted to your liking. They had no limit to how much of the food you may consume so since I expect to bike a lot, I had several helpings. Lunch and dinner are not offered at Ma-Room Place but that can be easily bought at the establishments near the historical park. Food from outside is allowed inside the premises. Their personnel are very accommodating and are able to communicate in English fairly well. When I first entered the hotel, I took of my shoes and carried it inside the lobby. One of the staff immediately approached me and said that it was alright to wear shoes in the premises (although I still did not put my shoes back on). The personnel at the front desk provided me with a map of Sukhothai upon arrival. They made sure that I know the breakfast schedule. Moreover, they assisted me in planning my trip back to Bangkok. In fact, there was a time that their vehicle was travelling to the New City and they asked if I wanted to hitch. All in all, my experience staying at Ma-Room place was pleasant. The services and facilities exceeded my expectations and it was well worth what I have paid for.

Well this place is brand new and it seems they have started not long time ago. If you look for a nice, new and superclean room with a huge and very comfortable bed, thats your place. And the price, 500B per night, is a very good deal for it. The room also has a private bathroom with hot shower, a fridge, TV and aircon. If you want to meet fellow travellers and hang out with them, you should rather go in a guesthouse in the new city. Ma Room is situated on the main road between new and old city approx 2km away from the historical park. You can rent a bicycle for 50B per day and can easily cycle to the old city. Thats also the place to go for lunch and dinner, as this is currently not offered in Ma Room. They do offer breakfast, which is coffee/tea/water and some cooked Thai dish. The staff speaks only a limited amount of English. I stayed for a week and really enjoyed my stay. But I have some suggestions for improvement to the management, take it or leave it: 1. Have a bin in the bathroom. 2. Have a board or small wardrobe in the livingroom. Currently is no other place for the baggage as on the floor. 3. Have a mirror in the livingroom. The one in the bathroom is quite small. 4. Have at least 1 or 2 English channels in the TV. Currently all is in Thai, which makes the TV useless for western guests. 5. Tell guests what's for breakfast before you serve it. Currently it's a surprise breakfast. It's fine for me as I can eat anything. I'm just saying not everybody likes a ricesoup or spicy pad krapao with prawns for breakfast.

I stopped off here in Sukhothai for 2 days. The rooms here are very clean and comfortable with great air con and fast internet. The staff told me all the must see places in Sukhothai and pinpointed them on a map for me. Everywhere of interest is very close to the hotel, just a five minute cycle and they rent out bicycles at the hotel for 50 baht. When I had seen all I wanted to in Sukhothai I wanted to go to kanchanaburi. The staff not only told me how to get to kanchanaburi but they drove me to get my bus ticket, took me to 7/11, took me back to the hotel to collect my belongings and brought me back to the bus station. This was incredible service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning on staying around the old city of Sukhothai.

Stayed here when we went on a tour to Sokhothai to see the temple ruins and can highly recommend. This is a new property and easy to find along the main road going from Sokhothai to the temple ruins. The room was a great rate at 450 baht per night. The room was clean and the bed enormous and very comfortable. A small shower and toilet but for one night who cares. We were on the ground floor at the back and there was a small balcony as well. Would recommend. There was no breakfast that we could discover but we were able to go and get hot drinks at their restaurant and local shops supplied food which we could take back and eat.
